La Marée restaurant — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

AMAZING !!!

Finally we have found a restaurant where a chef knows how to cook !! This is a new place so all the waiters were available and attentive. The only one who has a good English is the lovely lady Wan ( her name ) she is professional, kind, smiling and make sure to fulfill all the client’s needs. Small note : would be nice to have waiters who speak and understand English to make the experience smoother.

As a pescatarian and a seafood lover I was not disappointed. I have requested some change on the dishes and to cook without any sauce or dairy, they absolutely went above my requirements and expectations. Everything is fresh, well cooked and balanced. Presentation of the courses is elegant and refined. Restaurant is super clean. We ordered the grilled scallops as starter it was really tasty, the chef cooked them perfectly grilled outside and meltingly soft inside. As main course I ordered the grilled octopus I can tell you is super fresh, again the cooking was perfect not too cooked not too soft, and tasty finally a chef who add taste as I don’t eat with sauce or butter. The wild mushrooms are something you definitely should try ! Cauliflower was so tasty. I was just expecting a little bit more veggies with the octopus, I had to order another portion of veggies. My husband ordered the risotto with shrimps and zucchini the portion is great and it was yummy. For dessert we ordered the panna cotta with strawberry, it was so good.

Please try it you’ll definitely not be disappointed. Amazing food, great service, the selection of wines is nice, got a really good glass of cotes de Provence rose and my husband a red wine from Italy, only we noticed the quantity of red wine was very small.

A Hidden Gem for Seafood Lovers!

If you’re a seafood enthusiast, this place is an absolute must-visit when in Thailand! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic vibe with beautiful views of the ocean, setting the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience.

The menu is an absolute feast for the senses, featuring the freshest seafood caught daily. We started with the prawn crackers, which were light and perfectly crispy, followed by a plate of soft-shell crab that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The highlight, however, was the grilled fish – it was cooked to perfection, with a smoky char and delicate flavor that paired wonderfully with a tangy dipping sauce.

Each dish was bursting with flavor, and the combination of herbs and spices was a delightful balance. The portions were generous, and you could tell that the chefs really take pride in using only the best ingredients.

To top it off, the prices were incredibly reasonable for such high-quality food. If you’re looking to experience authentic Thai seafood with a perfect blend of flavors, this place will exceed your expectations!

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the octopus with romesco sauce. Cooked to perfection, the octopus was tender and flavorful, and the rich, smoky romesco sauce complemented it beautifully.
