Very disappointed in Mamasita at the moment. I've been a few times and it's always pretty decent. The food is above average with some dishes better than others. Nachos good but thats pretty simple, guacamole very nice, quesadilla ok but burrito was not tasty at all (2 of us thought the same). The problem is the service was slow and poor and one of the staff in particular was not friendly. It's a small place and even if busy there's no excuse for waiting 15 minutes for a drink. And no apologies at all. The whole experience felt like we were being a nuisance and it was hard work just trying to get drinks and food and chili sauce and even the bill, which was expensive (3500 for 4 people). I'd much rather have gone to a Thai restaurant and spent 800 for a better experience.Really poor show and if they can't handle 8 tables then they need new staff or reduce to 5 tables and do...
Read moreRed a bunch of good reviews about this place and decided to visit even though we didn’t expect good Mexican food in Thailand. It also looked suspiciously empty...for no reason! We were not disappointed! Very pleasant atmosphere and simple (a bit cheesy but authentic) design. Very friendly staff and incredible food. Menu seems small but covers all the basics with possibility to make any main course vegetarian (you choose from variety of toppings). Be aware that if you want guacamole with your meals, you have to order it extra because it’s not included in set of sauces that come with your food. For mixed drinks you an choose to make them with local rum or with Caribbean import (+30baht). However small dessert selection, but we got so stuffed after the dinner that didn’t care for them. It was also one of the cheapest dinners we had in Bangtao, so good...
Read moreAs someone from Southern California, where great Mexican food is everywhere, I was really missing authentic Mexican flavors during my time in Thailand—until I found Mamasitas! This place truly has the best Mexican food in Phuket. Every dish tastes like home, from the perfectly seasoned tacos to the amazing enchiladas. Yes, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but it's totally worth it for the quality and authenticity. The vibes inside are fantastic, with real Mexican music playing, making the experience even better. And their margaritas? Perfection—just like the ones you’d get in Mexico! Plus, on Mondays, they do a buy one, get one free margarita deal, which is amazing. If you’re craving real Mexican food, Mamasitas is the spot, make sure to get a reservation because if you walk in they might not have a...
