An experience leaving us — once a week goers — wondering if we ever want to go back ever again
We’ve been going to BiTP since it opened and for the past 8 months, we’ve been going at least once a week. It was once a place for many occasions— an easy meal, a gathering with friends and colleagues.
We value BiTP for the quality of the food that it serves and once valued the exemplary service the restaurant delivers — and were happy to pay the above the market rate, a price premium for that.
That completely changed when we visited on 3rd August. On every visit, a regular item on the menu we order is the beef tongue, a dish we must have ordered over 40 times. In those 40+ times we were always satisfied with the dish.
On this occasion though, the tongue had tough connective tissues at the base of the meat, making it unchewable and we both had to excrete them on to the tissue paper. To our best efforts we tried to forcefully swallow them, to the point where it was unbearable.
Luckily, one of the service people, a young gentleman, overheard the conversation we were having among ourselves in regards to the dish, and very politely asked if anything was wrong and offered to replace the dish and took it away— the gesture and service we had come to associate with BiTP.
But then comes out the Manager who goes by the name “Pim” with the same very plate about 10 minutes later to say quite rudely that the meat is like this and that there is nothing wrong with it with groundless explanations of why the meat is tough. Upon saying we’ve had the dish countless times and its never like this, she then gave in and said she can replace the dish — but only 5 pieces, when the original plate that young gentleman took away had 10+ pieces on it.
She then brings out a new plate, now of normal BiTP standards, and as loyal customers we patiently tried to explain to her what was wrong with the previous dish. She puts down the plate quite abruptly, wasn’t giving us the time of the day to explain and exhaled the word “enjoy” as she walked away with her head held high as if she were trying to prove a point to her service team.
We were then met with a few familiar faces of the service team trying to comfort us and apologise on behalf of the restaurant for their manager’s inappropriate behaviour.
We hope the matter gets reviewed and resolved by the BiTP Management team. The food remains to be excellent but the service has been severely let down. There should be no place for turning customers away for this reason. What a disappointing and...

Read moreI have been a frequent visitor to this hotpot restaurant and have always enjoyed the great service and pleasant dining experience they provide. I believe that each hotpot place has its own unique selling point, so I don't like to compare it with others. However, I personally find this place to have the most enjoyable dining atmosphere for hotpot. The seating arrangements are comfortable and allow for easy access when you need to grab more food. One thing that stands out to me is their spotlessly clean sauce station, which is regularly refilled. It's a small detail, but it makes a difference in the overall dining experience.
Their menu may not be extensive, but they have everything you need to fully enjoy your hotpot. The meat, seafood, and veggies they offer are always fresh and well-cleaned. I must mention that their sauce menu is simply the best. I have tried and enjoyed every single soup they have, with the tomatoes and spicy soup being my personal favorites. If you're not a fan of spicy mala, I recommend ordering the mild spicy option. It provides a nice kick of spice without overwhelming your hotpot.
If I have one small suggestion, it would be to expand their fruit and dessert options. Currently, they only offer three types of fruits and a lemon drink. It would be nice to have a few more choices in this area.Overall, I highly recommend this hotpot restaurant for its pleasant dining atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious offerings. It's definitely worth a visit if you're a...
