Unfortunately, despite the charm of the restaurant and the inspiring story of the couple who left Italy to start fresh in Phuket, we had a deeply disappointing and upsetting experience after eating their margarita pizza. My friend ordered the pizza, while I chose the carbonara pasta. Later that evening, my friend began feeling nauseous, but I didn’t initially connect her symptoms to the pizza. She spent the entire night vomiting, and at some point, I woke up and ate some leftover pizza.

About an hour later, I began vomiting as well. It was a terrible experience. I ended up needing to go to the hospital and later to a clinic, where I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in my stomach caused by the pizza. This is no coincidence—it’s clear the pizza was the source, as I was perfectly fine beforehand and became very sick after eating it.

A few days later, once I was feeling well enough to function normally, I called the restaurant to share my experience. The husband answered and mentioned that he appreciated my feedback but stated that other people who had the same dishes didn’t experience any issues. However, not everyone has the same immune system, so this response felt dismissive.

It’s also worth noting that the restaurant isn’t cheap—we paid a premium price, expecting high standards and feeling confident that we wouldn’t face any issues, especially since we deliberately avoided eating from street vendors.

The owner was friendly and polite, and he even came by our table personally to check that everything was to our satisfaction!A thoughtful gesture that shows how much he cares about his guests' experience. The food was simply outstanding! The handmade pasta, fresh ingredients, rich sauces, and authentic wood-fired pizza transported us straight to Italy. Amazing Italian restaurant in Phuket Town! Everything was so tasty. The homemade lasagna was perfect, the lamb ragù pasta was full of flavour and the seafood pasta was also excellent. The cold cuts were also high quality. Not the cheap kind. Real good charcuterie. They also have a nice selection of wines.

It’s surprising to find such a good Italian place in Phuket Town. The restaurant fits perfectly in this beautiful neighbourhood. Phuket Town is really a place you must see when you come to Phuket and this restaurant is another reason why.
