Nice old building with pretty good presentation of the place and history of people in Phuket.
However bad management ruins experience of visitors. Staff doesn't care about customer service.
Lady at ticket office says the guide is in the building.
After walking around looking for the guide for about 5- 10 mins, another staff says the guide is on 2nd floor.
Walk again to find which room on second floor he is. There are quite a few rooms. Most rooms are very hot.
The presentation of the house could have been more interesting. The guide should be more welcoming and happy.
The guide is talking in front of a group of students in one of the rooms upstairs. He explained about different groups of Chinese people in Phuket.
There is a short film showing how they come to Phuket.
Visitors should be informed by the ticket lady that the guided tour is at "what time" . The tour has already been started since "what time" . And "When" the next tour session is going to happen on that day.
Do not just grab the money from visitors and tell them to look for the guide. Do your job properly.
Fee for foreigner is 200 bahts per person. Thai people pays 50 bahts per person.
The guide mentions during his touring session about people criticising the management of museum on their Facebook.
It is because the management is messy and...

Visitors can explore interactive displays, historical artifacts, and short films, making it an engaging cultural and educational experience. The museum also features a charming open-air courtyard and garden with old mining tools, reflecting the...

Converted from an old school for the Chinese in Phuket, it's now a 2-storey museum showcasing the history of Chinese immigrants that rooted here. The building itself is a unique architecture during its time, incorporating Greek and Roman styles, including the balustrade on Level 2 decorated in Art Deco Style.
There are several rooms with images and captions describing how and why the Chinese settled in Phuket, a few of the more prominent figures at that time, the culture, festivals celebrated and the food. I spent about an hour there, was OK to kill some time and hide from the heat, but I don't think it was worth the entrance fees though.
The museum also reminded me much of the Han Chin Pet Soo...
