I used to be a frequent customer of this restaurant, but I’ve stopped going, and this review explains why.

The food quality is inconsistent—sometimes it’s really delicious, other times it’s very bad. Portion sizes also vary: sometimes they’re large, sometimes very small, and sometimes just average. Additionally, the meat can occasionally be tough and difficult to chew.

The ladies working at the restaurant provide good service, and I want to thank them for their efforts. However, the Arabic waiter who claims to be the manager has a rather extremely friendly but unsettling way of communicating. I am 44 years old, likely 15 or 20 years older than him, yet he kept addressing me as “man,” even though it was clear I was uncomfortable with that.

What ultimately made me stop visiting was his tendency to make inappropriate comments about other nations. For example, he said things like, “Arabs hate this nation”, blamed that nation for problems in the Middle East, and complained about tourists having bad experiences in another country. This is not how you speak to a guest—especially someone older than you. While I didn’t take it personally, it reflects poorly on the restaurant.

The cleanliness of the restaurant is another issue. The toilets are not well-maintained, and the place sometimes has an unpleasant smell, which even lingers on the tables. Many of the customers, primarily Arabic, can be very noisy and uncivilized while dining. If they have children, the kids often run around screaming and spilling food on the floor.

Most of the time, I would finish my meal quickly and leave because of the unpleasant atmosphere. However, after my last experience, I decided not to return. While I appreciate the service and hospitality, the inconsistent food quality, lack of cleanliness, and unprofessional communication—combined with the high prices for small portions—make it difficult to justify coming back.

You have to add 17% to the prices listed on the menu, so a basic meal of chicken, rice, cucumber, and tomato ends up costing $10–$15. If you choose lamb or beef, the price jumps to $20–$30. I don’t believe the food, service, or overall experience at this restaurant justifies those prices.

I spent around four months visiting this place once or twice a week, but enough is enough. The experience wasn’t satisfying, especially considering the 17% additional charges, which are common in Thailand but feel unjustified here.

Thank you for your past efforts, and I wish you the best of luck in improving...

Lebanese food at its finest and my #1 Meal in Thailand

I am a foodaholic and I love food. Last night, i wanted to eat some Lebanese food, so I researched all the Lebanese resteraunts in Bangkok. After reading hundreds of reviews and looking at 1000's of photos, Beirut was the clear winner.

Arrived at 7pm. A nice 20 minute walk from Asok.

The menu is expansive. So much choice. Good pictures for those that need graphics.

The manager came and took our order. He helped with a couple of requests, made a couple of recommendations and I placed a pretty large order because I love Lebanese food and there are so many things that I just have to have. Ordered about 10 items.

The service is quick. Various dishes started arriving at the table in true Lebanese fashion.

The mixed houmous (4 different houmouses in seperate dishes) is fantastic. Not eaten houmous this good in a long time. The pita bread is perfect.

The stuffed Vine leaves are perfect. So tasty and so good. The rice inside is perfectly cooked.

The pomegranate chicken livers are absolutely beautiful, for me the best dish, and I have to thank the manager for helping me to choose those over the garlic and lemon chicken livers.

The falafal are the best falafal I have have tried outside the Middle East. Dip one of those in some houmous and some garlic sauce and prepare for a taste sensation unlike any other.

The spiced potatoes are amazing. So perfect. They accompanied the meal.

The service is perfect. The manager always had a smile on his face and the serving staff where amazing. They know that they have good food and they are proud of that which I really appreciated.

We finished off with a selection of desserts and some mint tea.

All in all, this has been the best meal that I have had in years. The best one I have had in Thailand. The best one I have had in Asia.

I will be going back, so many things on the menu, that I feel like I have not even started. Looks like a great place for a a big celebration meal with a big group of people.

Unfortunately, I did not take too many photos, just got carried away with the eating and...

Here’s a well-written review for Beirut Sukhumvit 39 (Bangkok) in a natural human style, over 200 words:

⸻

Beirut Sukhumvit 39 is an excellent choice for anyone craving authentic Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine in Bangkok. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere and welcoming staff make you feel at home. The restaurant is beautifully set up with comfortable seating and a relaxed vibe, perfect for both casual dining and special gatherings.

The menu is extensive and offers a wide variety of traditional dishes. The hummus and baba ghanoush are creamy and full of flavor, perfectly paired with freshly baked pita bread. One of the highlights for me was the mixed grill platter—it came with tender, juicy kebabs, perfectly seasoned chicken, and lamb that simply melted in the mouth. The shawarma was another standout, rich in spices yet balanced in taste. Vegetarians also have plenty of choices, from falafel to fresh salads that are both healthy and satisfying.

What makes Beirut Sukhumvit 39 special is the attention to detail. The food is not only delicious but also presented beautifully. The service is attentive without being intrusive, and the staff are always happy to recommend dishes or adjust spice levels to suit your preference. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and generous portion sizes.

Overall, Beirut Sukhumvit 39 is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys Middle Eastern flavors. Whether you are a local in Bangkok or a traveler exploring Sukhumvit, this restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy authentic food, great hospitality, and a memorable...

Highly recommend restaurant. An awesome Halal food Lebanese restaurant where you can get a whole range of your favorite Middle Eastern dishes. The food so simply delicious and would have you savouring for more. This is so far one of the best middle Eastern restaurant I have been to in Thailand, definitely on the top 5 when it come to food taste, service (quick and cordial with friendly staff) and outlook or seating arrangement. The restaurant is very different from most restaurants that I have been to in Thailand. It has a very organized outdoor seating and a much more lavish indoor seating with air conditioning. The outdoors has an ancient Greek style theme with pillars random placed. Plenty of space and seating. The staff were very friendly and kind, all the way from the guard at the main gate to the staff opening the door to us. We were a group of 7 and had an advanced booking/reservation. We called up and specifically asked if the food is Halal or fit for consumption for Muslim, to which they said it is Halal. The price is a little bit expensive compared to other Lebanese /middle Eastern restaurants in Bangkok but not by a significant margin. But then again the price was worth the taste of the food and quality of service.

But then again the price was worth the taste of the food and quality of service.
