Normally I don’t give 1 star for restaurant, but we spend around 7,000 baht for dinner tonight , I got somethings have to say as below : The food is too salty , we have to drink more water after eating . We got the most worse duck taste in our life , the smell of duck is too strong , we feel like eating a raw duck without cooked , then chef explaining a lot how they cooked duck which I really don’t care , I just curious about why they serve unpalatable food to customers . Btw, we asked chef that can you cooking duck by another way , because we don’t want to waste food that we ordered, but they give us free chicken meatball instead . I don’t quite satisfied with solution . The price we order is 2,600 baht , and chicken meatball is around 120 baht . I have to say thanks :) Because we don’t have an appointment, waitress lead us to table which is under air conditioner, I leaving my bag to basket , I never know the air conditioner will leaking water to my brand name bag . And waitress say nothing , or I’m the first one got leaking water by air conditioner, before open restaurant you won’t check every facilities?

Read moreTucked away in the charming neighbourhood of Ekkamai, Gen Japanese Charcoal Grill Restaurant & Bar is the kind of place you know is authentic the moment you walk in when you see Japanese diners filling the tables, you’re in the right spot.
The meats here are nothing short of outstanding. Char-grilled to perfection over smoky Japanese charcoal, the duck is succulent and rich, while the wagyu beef simply melts in your mouth. And while the grill is the star, don’t overlook the sashimi which is fresh, silky, and every bit as good as what you’d find in a top Tokyo sushi bar.
I visited during lunch and found the ambience calm and intimate, making it a perfect escape from the city buzz. The staff were warm, attentive, and wonderfully professional, adding to the feeling that you’ve been transported straight to Japan.
Overall, Gen is an exceptional spot for anyone who appreciates quality Japanese cuisine, a place where every detail from the food to the service is done with care. A true Ekkamai gem worth revisiting...
