Good goat and beef soups---which I had both, but regrettably not mind-blowing.
I arrived and ate before 12 noon to avoid the lunch crowd, but the restaurant is already packed.
The menu came in English as well, and the ever-attentive staff were responsive and helpful.
First, I had Goat Soup, and thereafter l, the mixed Beef Soup---accompanied by a small bowl of white rice.
The less substantial bowl of Goat Soup came with a few Dang Gui barks, Gingko Nuts, Goji Berries, small Shiitake Mushroom chunks, and garnished with Chinese celery. 👍
The more substantial bowl of Beef Soup had slices of tender fresh beef, beef liver, tripe and stewed beef, a couple of pieces of not so tender beef tendon, and 2 beef meatballs, garnished with green lettuce and Chinese celery. 👍
Unsure if both soups had the same soup base, but both tasted extremely similar. Both were clear, clean-tasting and slightly gooey. Unlike the Singapore or Malaysia versions, the level of herbs used were not as intense. Oddly, the taste of goat and beef meats weren't as evident as I had hoped either. 😏
Overall, the soups were good, even though I would prefer them to be served hotter. Mine arrived a little cooler than I prefer my soups to be---that is, tongue-scorchingly hot! 😏
A dash of chilli vinegar on the table will definitely bring the soups to another level... 😉👍
At 395 Baht, together with a small bowl of rice and a Coke, I think the prices are reasonable, when compared to Nai Ngieb Fish Ball Noodles (located at least a 40-mins drive outside of central BKK).
When I'm next back in Thailand, if I crave goat or beef soups, I'll probably return to Wattana...
