We made the mistake of thinking this is a branch of PanPan in Pattaya... big mistake! This is apparently a completely different restaurant and it can't compete in any way with the one in Pattaya.
We ordered Mussels Arrabbiata, very bland and nothing near the spiciness normally associated with authentic Arrabbiata sauce, rather surprising in the land of chili. Here's an interesting part: I don't think I have ever been served mediterranean style mussels in any restaurant without: ...Bread! So, we asked for bread, after which the staff went to get their manager, who explained that bread must be ordered separately. So, we did. 20 min passes, and no bread. So we ask again, some time later a basket with thin slices of pizza dough was presented. We tried to explain that we would like some normal bread for soaking up the sauce. In the end they could not provide anything like the kind of basic bread you would typically find in a complementary bread basket in Italian restaurants. In the end we gave up on the bread.
We also ordered the snow fish for 550 Bt ++ which turned out to be a surprisingly thin (~10mm) butterfly cut. Snow fish really needs a thicker cut to retain its juiciness. Served with plain spinach and ...only mayo (!). What would it take to at least serve with aioli or add some herbs in the mayo? ...I mean, for that kind of money?
We would give this restaurant 3 stars if it wasn't for 2 things, each deducting one star: Firstly: The lack of bread. Such a basic thing, but so important in Italian cuisine. Not offering bread in an Italian restaurant...? Not a good idea! Ask any Italian.
Secondly, upon leaving we made the mistake of making some polite suggestions to the manager. However, the female senior manager turned away leaving us hanging in the middle of a sentence, eventually walking out entirely. If she would have engaged in a 2 min polite conversation, I would not have bothered to leave this review. However, walking out midst conversation is rude and shows an appalling lack of respect for their patrons and any kind of feedback they may provide.
We will definitely not come back to this restaurant and our visit left us upset and...
Read moreI recently dined at Pan Pan Restaurant, and I must say, my experience was far from pleasant. The food left much to be desired—it seemed more like an afterthought than a carefully prepared meal. Each dish lacked flavor, freshness, and seemed thrown together without any care.
To make matters worse, the service was abysmal; it took ages to get our orders taken and even longer for the food to arrive, with little communication from the staff throughout our visit. It felt as if our concerns were completely disregarded.
It's such a shame because we had high hopes for this place given its reputation. However, what stood out even more than the poor food and service was the overall atmosphere—there was an unsettling feeling that added to our discomfort during the meal.
In an unexpected twist, the owner of Pan Pan has been revealed as the "real mafia" behind the infamous Chicken Mafia. What started as a quirky dining experience has taken a thrilling turn! It's unfortunate when you feel unwelcome in a restaurant that should provide warmth and hospitality instead of indifference. A dining experience should be about enjoying good company over quality food in a pleasant environment—something we certainly did not find at Pan Pan Restaurant during our visit!
This will definitely be my last visit to this...
Read moreIt’s waste of time. Looks good from the outside but if you looking for real authentic Italian food, avoid this place.
We had tried their spaghetti alle vongole, creamy carbonara, mushroom soup, pork chop and sea bass with cream sauce.. all tastes awful and very disappointing, plating is zero. Not just the ingredient they use, the cooking style was totally out and it was the worst so call Italian food in our life. Pasta was breaks into really short like 2-3inches long, soggy, clams taste like the frozen one without shells, soup can tell it’s from can and it’s tasteless, fish was strangely fried and flooded with cream sauce, the pork chop wasn’t grill nor pan fried but you can tell that they actually kind of deep fried it (but under cook kind of color, very pale). Overall are strange and worst than normal tavern western food. Most of us just can’t finish the meal and worst part was my daughter start throwing up right after eating. Only good side, staffs was kind and that’s all.
So conclusion, it’s not an authentic Italian restaurant but a very very very normal western food place that you won’t...
