A Culinary Delight at Amritsar Restaurant, Soi 22 Sukhumvit, Bangkok
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Amritsar Restaurant in Bangkok, located on Soi 22 Sukhumvit. From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the warm ambiance and inviting aromas that filled the air. The restaurant exudes an authentic Indian charm, creating the perfect setting for an evening of culinary delight.
To kick off our dining experience, we indulged in a refreshing bucket of beers, setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. The menu boasted a tantalizing array of dishes, and after much contemplation, we opted for the Chicken Tikka, Handi Chicken, and a selection of delectable breads.
The Chicken Tikka was a revelation, perfectly marinated and grilled to succulent perfection. Each bite was a burst of flavors that danced on our palates, showcasing the chef's mastery of spices. The Handi Chicken, a house specialty, was a rich and aromatic curry that left us craving for more. Accompanied by a variety of freshly baked breads, the combination was nothing short of a gastronomic symphony.
What truly elevated our dining experience was the impeccable service, with a special mention to Mr. Joy. His presence was a highlight of the evening, as he effortlessly navigated the dining room, ensuring every guest felt valued and attended to. As someone from the same industry, I was thoroughly impressed by Mr. Joy's professionalism and passion for hospitality. His attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for the patrons were evident throughout the evening, making us feel truly pampered.
In a city teeming with dining options, Amritsar Restaurant on Soi 22 Sukhumvit stands out not just for its exquisite Indian cuisine but also for the exceptional service led by the gem of the establishment, Mr. Joy. We left with satisfied appetites, full hearts, and a newfound appreciation for the art of hospitality. Amritsar Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Indian culinary experience, coupled with...
Read moreAmritsr has been nothing beyond a major disappointment for me during my 4 nights trip to bangkok. Usually when we indians see a well known name we just satisfied and comfortable knowing that this name can be trusted and wont disappoint but very unfortunately it has been the opposite with Amritsr. I am from dubai and I have eaten at Amritsr a couple of times there hence when i found this restaurant around my hotel i was quite happy however very unfortunately food was a big turnoff. We ate here twice and both times left the restaurant dissatisfied. Paneer Tikka Masala was ordered the 1st time and baingan ka bharta and dal tarka with tandoori roti and naan the second time. Paneer tikka masala was a dark brown gravy with just paneer in it which this dish calls for cubes of bell peppers and onions too but the dish was missing it. During the second visit, we requested for the dal tadka just to be non spicy they went and prepared a dal fry instead without the tadka without even asking or letting us know. The baingan ka bharta was the disaster dish of the day for us. We asked them to only serve the dal.non spicy while the bharta to be served in the normal way and oh my God it felt like it was cooked with 10+ green chillies. It was the worst bharta eaten with an overdose.of spice and we had to leave the dish half way even though the server kindly offered to and got it changed to a slightly lesser spicy option but it did not really make a big difference. Although the servers are nice and polite the food doesnt really meet the expectations so I do wonder how do they accumulate so many 5* reviews. Anyway i think they are only best at their kulchas and that is the only dish iwill continue to stick...
Read moreSearched for an affordable indian spot to have breakfast from and landed on this Punjabi restaurant with almost unbelievable reviews.
We reached here at about 9.30 am (they open @ 9.00 am) and at the door stood an Indian security who spoiled my 6 days vacation in Bangkok with his cold demeanor. He said there was no light in the restaurant in a very unhinged manner as though we were there to receive free leftovers from yesterday.
When I asked him, if we can go in and if food is available, he replied in hindi asking me how to prepare food without light.
We returned about an hour later to be received by Ms. Kumari and another friendly waiter.
As per her recommendations we ordered Amritsari aloo kulcha with chana, mutton rogan josh, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and tandoor roti.
There were hardly a few tables occupied at 10.30 am, and our food arrived promptly. The Aloo kulcha was crispy/crunchy on the outside and soft inside, the chana masala paired well with it.
The mutton rogan josh was quite ordinary and I have had much better ones more times than I can count. There was an option to choose from boneless or bone-in pieces.
As for chicken tikka masala, it was quite well made, but nothing extra ordinary or memorable.
It was quite the average experience with above average pricing.
If not for Kumari' pleasant customer service, I'd have written this place off, there is however some potential, but I'm not too sure about the reviews I have read or perhaps ours was one-off an experience.
Paid 1,225 Baht altogether which seems quite high. But definitely the pricing seems high relatively to the...
