Read moreWas looking for places to eat near our hotel and saw this as top rated on google maps, so we went here on our last day for dinner. Didn’t make a reservation but we went quite early, like around 5pm. Luckily, there were still empty seats and we only had to wait for a little while, but dining time was only 1.5h. The menu was a little confusing to read (Cos of all the overwhelming fonts and pictures and names and prices) but we eventually chose one of the platters they had, and a few side dishes like yukhoe (always wanted to try it after seeing countless Tzuyang mukbangs hehe). Also ordered other cuts of meat ala carte. The meats were ok, the tongue was a little tough compared to what I’ve had from yakinikus in SG. The best obviously the wagyu 🤤🤤🤤 so tender and fragrant. The beef in the yukhoe actually didn’t really have a smell or taste at all, it’s more of the seasonings, and it was also a little slimey from the egg. Overall not a bad first experience of yukhoe, would have it again. The normal beef karubi was actually also really nice and tender. The total bill came up to 3,759.34B for 5 people (SGD$150.37, ~$30/pax), the most expensive meal for this trip. Super worth meal though, as this will set you back at least $200+ in SG with the quantity and cuts of meat that we ordered. Service was also amazing and fast, service staff were also friendly. Ambience was also great, we got to seat in a private room upstairs, which made it feel like we were really in Japan!
They had multiple posters on the wall which offered free dishes and even free beer if you help them promote on your social media’s hahaha maybe that explains the many good reviews on google. But it was still...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite restaurants. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted and led to a cozy corner table. I ordered the BaBA set along with the Gyu Kotsu Ramen. The ordering process was easy and straightforward. There’s a call button on the table you can press anytime to get the staff’s attention — I found it very handy. The vibe fits perfectly with a traditional Yakiniku concept — authentic décor without being pretentious. The chair I chose was very comfortable. The air conditioning was acceptable, though I wish it were stronger — not only for comfort, but also to help minimize the smell from grilling and keep flies away. The washroom was clean and well-maintained. The quality of the food is top notch for the price. The price-to-portion (PP) ratio is totally justified, especially when you’re in the mood for premium A5 Wagyu.
