A Modern Oasis in a Bustling Neighborhood This 4-star property strikes an impressive balance between comfort, convenience, and value. Nestled in the vibrant Sukhumvit area, the hotel offers a contemporary retreat after long days exploring the city. The sleek design elements throughout the property create a sophisticated atmosphere that doesn't feel stuffy or pretentious. While it may not have the opulence of some 5-star competitors, what it delivers in consistent quality and attentive service makes it a standout choice for both business and leisure travelers. LOCATION: The location is one of the hotel's strongest selling points. Situated on Sukhumvit Soi 22, it's just a 5-minute walk to the Phrom Phong BTS station, making city exploration incredibly convenient. The EmQuartier and Emporium shopping malls are within easy walking distance, giving immediate access to high-end shopping, dining, and entertainment options. DINE + DRINK: The hotel houses two main dining options. Maya Restaurant serves excellent authentic Indian cuisine with some Thai dishes available as well. The flavors were consistently rich and well-balanced, though prices are higher than local restaurants outside the hotel. The breakfast buffet offered at Zeta Cafe includes both Asian and Western options with fresh fruits, pastries, an egg station, and various hot items. ROOM: We stayed in Room 2206, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: Lovely view of the city Skyscrapers and the cute little metro trains that keep running back and forth below!; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: Good sized bathroom with a Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Excellent Spa quality toiletries by SOAK luxury brand FACILITIES: Very good Gym with a nice range of weights and Cardio machines. They also have a Balinese style Swimming pool that is outdoor and perfect for an aqua workout or lazy lounging. SERVICE: Friendly staff that cared for all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of. Special Shout-out to the Guest experience manager YING, for enhancing our stay experience, and a big thank you to DOME, FLUKE, and M at the Bellhop service for helping with the airport transfers and saving the day! HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! A Super ANCIENT and SMALL TV that felt so out of place in this nice modern-looking hotel.

I had a terrible experience at the Holiday Inn Bangkok for five days straight. 1. I needed to stay at this hotel for five nights. The first room I booked faced a large construction site, so I heard noises from it every day. Additionally, the air conditioner in this room was constantly making a lot of noise. The walls were very thin, allowing every single noise from loud neighbours to be heard. I had a terrible time for three days without a chance to rest. 2. I requested a quieter room and explained the situation to the front desk. A female receptionist with glasses changed my room. As soon as I switched rooms, renovation work started at the fire exit, which was right next to the new room. I was shocked and asked the front desk how this could happen, and they said it would be done in 30 minutes. However, the loud drilling and hammering noises continued until the evening. 3. On the last day of my stay, there was a loud party with extremely loud music coming from the Emsphere building. Even with earplugs, the vibrations from the sound woofers shook my entire room. The club played loud music using huge woofers all day long until 2:00 a.m. It was a total nightmare. I used to stay at the Holiday Inn Bangkok for a long time before, even during the pandemic, and there were no issues like these back then. I think Emsphere has ruined Holiday Inn Sukhumvit since the Emsphere building was constructed next to this hotel, making it extremely loud and noisy. Even worse, your room can be seen by people in Emsphere, as shown in my photo. I am so disappointed and will never stay here again.

I did not know but has been here like 7 years back. What made me remmember is really stupid elevators and reception at nine floor. Checking was a nightmare as person at reception that time had very low english and was quite a problem to understand what he wanted. On the end I was "upgraded" which was zero upgrade (staying here before I know how upgraded room looks like, posibility to look onto street is not an upgrade). Othervise services vere very nice, Executive lounge is ok and snacks / evening sotting good. Just if everywhere in hotel they did not have ceeling climatization set to freeze - in one day had shoulders totally stiff and at morning running nose and fever... Restaurant on top floor very nice and sitting outside looking on night Bangkok very lovely, service there excelent. Check out lady was exactly opposite of check in - polite, articulate, funny and highly efficient (she also works at Lounge). Hotel is in centre so expect time to time bit more noisy (especially when is a party night and police for some reason 2 hours with sirens going around). Equipment is bit dated especially elevators show lot of years. Price wise would say on edge of good value, more to too expensive for state of things. Still for short stay, efficient.

The Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit holds a dear place in our hearts. Its service is tough to beat. Our last visit was in January 2020 before COVID. In early 2022, Thailand opened to tourists and we stayed for 14 days in June.

Our earlier reviews of this hotel cover the human resources, hospitality and maintenance perspective, in detail. All in all, with every aspect covered, it is indeed a quintessential gold service without boundaries.

To borrow a quote – ‘’Hospitality is a combination of people and magic — people who care enough to go beyond their own selfish desires in order to create magic.’’

The above is positively authentic, vibrant and colourful today as it has been before in this hotel. Led by an able team, helmed by – Ms Poom (Nuttanicha Srikaew), they collectively exhibited that effervescent magic, with their current staff strength. The hotel welcomed new staff members as tourism returned.

HOTEL PREMISES – Like before, at every step, all matters appeared in place, from the cleanliness and food in Zeta Café, to the array of multiple dishes, the room atmosphere, the bed comfort including the equipment was all in order and good operational condition. Clean lobbies and the concierge busy and alert. Swift at arranging taxis. An amazing effort by the hotel staff as they geared for the influx of tourists with happy smiles.

TRUE TEST – A true test of hospitality reveals a high level of professionalism, care and concern displayed by hotel staff.

My husband suffered acute abdominal pains in the first week, later diagnosed as kidney stones & blocked urethra. Ms Poom immediately recommended ‘Wellness Clinic’, as the first response to investigate. The clinic is a short walk from the hotel. Dr Sumait Premmanisakul attended and gave prescriptions to my husband and we observed for 3 days. The pain emerged again and Dr Sumait recommended a further detailed investigation, and off we were to Sukhumvit Hospital followed by a stay at Camillian Hospital.

The success of the whole operation is in part due to early groundwork by the hotel staff especially Ms Poom, and her able assistant staff (photo at right). The options available, clinics & hospitals and calling to check the availability of the doctors etc. The hotel staff followed up with us regularly and extended a warm helping hand.

The medical incident was a big scare for us in a foreign land. Fortunately, Ms Poom and her team responded swiftly and amazingly that assisted in decision-making. Our heartfelt gratitude to all of them. For the readers, Wellness Clinic & Dr Sumait is recommended a visit in the event you face medical issues. Sukhumvit Hospital and Camillian Hospital both have their strengths and are affordable.

The Good: As a Platinum member, I was upgraded to a Premium room. It is always nice to get a room upgrade! The room itself was fine, albeit it felt a bit dark.

Staff were consistently very friendly. Always greeted with a smile. They were able to arrange a taxi to the BKK airport for a very reasonable 500 Baht.

The Not so Good: Check in was slow and you have to go up to level 9 (it is not on the ground floor). It does not feel great when after a lengthy journey, you have to wait in queue to get served. I did not see any priority check in counter for those who have status.

The shower was one of those where you have to stand in a bathtub, something which personally I am not a fan of. The shower did not drain properly and as a result, my feet would be standing in a pool of water each time I showered. Also, one time as I climbed into the bathtub/shower, I skinned my leg on the sharp outer edge. Ouch!

The bathroom sink is very horizontally flat and as a result, did not drain very well. When you brush your teeth, the white toothpaste residue would often stay on the sink and defy attempts to rinse away. I would literally have to cup water and splash it around repeatedly to get rid of the residue.

Internet would sometimes slow down to unacceptable speeds. Fortunately, it would return after a few minutes so it was not a show stopper, just irritating.

The automatic Hotel front sliding doors would often not open. You had to back up, and wave your arms repeatedly for the sensors to detect you. This is something that a hotel should be able to get right.

Room Service whilst keeping the place quite clean, were perhaps a bit overzealous. Having forgotten my toothbrush, I opened one of the hotels toothbrushes and was using it. I noticed Room Service kept throwing away the one I was using and giving me a new one! There is no need as it is a bit wasteful! Worse yet, they also threw away my favourite comb which I had brought from home. Whilst they did replace it with a hotel comb, I wanted my original one one back (obtained from some hotel a million years ago, it was a slightly longer one with wide bristles)! A very slight and unusual inconvenience!

Location: Located right next to EmSphere shopping centre. This is great for shopping and dining. Just a very short walk to Emporium and EmQuartier shopping centres. It is in between BTS stations, with Phrom Phong probably being slightly closer.

General Impresisons: This hotel has great friendly staff, a good location, but the hotel ambience seems quite clinical and dark (lacking warmth) and a departure from the typical decor of a Holiday Inn. There were also a number of relatively minor issues that marred the...
