Just discovered a hidden gem! Torihada's second branch tucked away in the basement of UBCII building at Sukhumvit 33. This place is a chicken lover's paradise that even Japanese locals give 5-star reviews!
I stopped by for lunch and was blown away by their affordable lunch sets. The portions are generous and the quality is top-notch! Here's what I tried:
🍜 Chicken Ramen (220฿) - Rich, authentic Japanese-style broth with a slightly strong flavor. If you don't enjoy salty broths, you might want to try something else.
🍗 Karaage Fried Chicken Set (220฿) - Perfectly crispy on the outside while staying juicy inside. Not dry at all and pairs wonderfully with rice!
🐟 Fried Tuna & Oyster Set (260฿) - Amazing value! The oysters were fresh and huge. Definitely worth every baht.
🍗 Namban Sauce Fried Chicken (240฿) - MUST TRY! Large chicken pieces topped with their special Namban sauce and boiled egg. The sauce is delicious without being overwhelming. This was my absolute favorite!
The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a casual lunch or evening hangout with friends. Service was friendly and efficient. This place truly delivers the authentic Japanese izakaya experience right in the heart of Bangkok.
If you're looking for quality Japanese cuisine focusing on chicken dishes at reasonable prices, don't miss this place. It lives up to the reputation of its famous Silom branch!
Pro tip: They have an extensive drink menu too, making it perfect for...
Read moreOur first dining experience in Sukhumvit branch. We were frequent visitors of their Silom branch that has been closed. In Sukhumvit they use electric grill and this really reflects in the end product taste and texture. skewers in Silom where caramelized to perfection - I'm not sure if they used binchotan charcoal from Japan (which is quite expensive) but they achieved so much more flavor and complexity while watching grill master playing with the fire was a visual pleasure as well. In Sukhumvit branch the skewers end up being half grilled half boiled and lacking the proper Maillard reaction. We do not plan to come back - looking for other places in BKK that choose to be more authentic and invest in real...
Read moreFor years I’ve always had a good impression of this place, but when I was there on 1 June 2024, 6pm. There was a waitress that was sick. She was sneezing and coughing. She even wiped her snot on her hands. All without having a mask. She’d serve drinks and food without even sanitizing her hands that had snot on it. I wanted to leave immediately and cut short my meal but the management wasn’t even willing to send her home. They messed up my final bill in the end (I ended up paying more) but I really had to hightail out of there without finishing my meal. People should have more knowledge on how to protect their customers. I doubt I’ll ever go...
