The rice, cooked in chicken broth, adds a fragrant and flavorful element to the meal. Each bite brought a burst of delightful flavors that left me craving for more.

Read moreArrived at this rather famous chicken rice stall at 6.02pm at peak hour. Need to share table, eating at the road side. But all is forgiven for this cheap and extremely good chicken rice from an unpretentious stall along Sukhumvit Road immediately below the Phrom Phong BTS station.
They have steamed chicken and fried chicken so if you don’t specify, the default is steamed chicken and each plate comes with a free bowl of chicken soup and chicken blood curd. Order a medium portion for 60bahts.
The soup is really something. First time I ever had a bowl of free chicken soup with chicken breast cartilage bone in it. Really full of umami, this soup really brings sparkle to your eyes with the first sip.
The chicken was very tender and juicy. The rice is fluffy and not dense, yet fragrant from the chicken fats and garlic. Blood curd has been banned in Singapore for so long but this is as good as any I have tasted in overseas. The chilli sauce is slightly sweet as per local Thai preference but this one is less spicy and more piquant. Nice.
As you can see from attached pic, it was so good I finished everything in no time. IMHO, this one is better than some Michelin Bib Gourmand winners, both in Singapore and Thailand. It’s that good. Strongly...

Very delicious basic street food chicken done right. They open late around 4pm. Be sure to check the hours. According to Google. We got there right around 4pm.
You can order steamed or fried. Both are great. We ordered a large one of each. Fried comes with sweet chili sauce and steamed comes with some brown spicy sauce. Both ok but i prefer the sweet chili. They both come with rice and soup which comes from boiling the chicken. If you're Filipino it tastes like Tinola.
Both dishes cost 175 THB (Dec 2022) which is $5.06
Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.
Seating is outdoors on small chairs. May need to order to go.
We found chairs immediately but when we walked by on the way home there was...
