Yang Garden was outstanding last night. We went as a family of four to celebrate our son’s birthday. We ordered lots of the sides - thoroughly recommended especially the puréed potato and truffles (perfect match with the steaks); tuna tartare; gnocchi; corn tempura. Steaks were medium rare - done perfectly. Takes real talent to know how to cook and rest meat to this standard. We’re from New Zealand so very accustomed to red meats. My son ordered the top steak and I agree with him it is the best I’ve tasted matched with garlic butter. The girls ordered grilled tuna - also prepared to perfection- and we tried to order as many sides as possible. All we tried were really good or exceptional. Most were exceptional. Pricing for international travellers and even relative to other Thailand restaurants was great. While the quality greatly exceeds this pricing - as if you like food this is a really special find. We were lucky to find it - stayed close by so we’re within easy walking distance. Desserts - chocolate fondant was fantastic (I generally don’t like chocolate desserts - but this was heaven). The crème brûlée was first-class. We’d ordered a few in Thailand on our adventures and been disappointed but this one was straight out of a 5-star kitchen. Perfection. Lemon grass hints - everything had a touch of original class so while everything is exceptional or good it is also unique with appropriate flavours from this region. We will never forget this experience on such an important celebration day for our family. Can’t recommend this establishment highly enough - but I have one question. Who was that cook? Quality like this doesn’t happen by chance!

Must try in Koh Lanta- Yang Garden serves fantastic fusion food at a reasonable price with a romantic atmosphere. The restaurant decoration reminds you of a garden in Europe. Once we were done ordering, bread basket was immediately served to our table. The bread was warm and paired well with the spread. To start off our night, we tried the grilled scallops and prawns for appetisers which were cooked to perfection. We ordered a main each; grilled tuna and tamarind glazed pork ribs. The pork ribs were tender and seasoned perfectly- the rub wasn’t too heavy. Grilled tuna was made tataki style which was seared on the outside and rare on the inside- very good with yuzu sauce. They recommend 2-3 sides for 2 persons but if you are a small eater, two sides are sufficient. The truffle potato puree was smooth, creamy and fluffy. Roasted cauliflower was crunchy, well spiced and addictive- loved the addition of pine nuts! Roasted aubergine was well seasoned and had good texture. We tried the kombucha which was from Bangkok- tangy, refreshing and not too sweet. The beer was smooth. On a side note, service was attentive and well paced. Music was relaxing and atmosphere was romantic which makes it suitable for date night, friends gathering and family get-together. Would visit again when we come back to Koh Lanta!

So far on this trip we have eaten on quite a few Michelin guide restaurants in Thailand, but Yang Garden just topped them all ⭐️ For starters we had the tuna tartar (220B) smoked prawn (190B) and the winner of the staters; the tempura corn. Fatty, crispy and a great sour sauce (180B) For mains we had the entrecôte (690B) and flanke steak (520B). We had 4 sides (80-95 B) The blue cheese and pear salad was the best. The meat was tender and smoked with a nice crunchy crust, and perfectly cooked to a medium rare inside. I saw they used a frying thermometer in the kitchen, which turned out to their advantage. ✌🏼 The house Pinot noir was great at the price (1.460B) We read on one of these reviews that you should have a lot of sides. I would like to second that! The only small thing was that the old fashioned came within 1 minute form ordering it and unfortunately was unbalanced. I’m not sure, but thinking about the fastness, in my experience I might had been a pre batch. Nevertheless I asked for some syrup, and the problem was solved. Nice vibe and great staff. Definitely coming back!

You’re in Thailand! The land of the smile, beautiful beaches and amazing food on every street corner. Seriously, count your blessings.

Restaurant Yang is the place to go if you want fine european dining for a change. The restaurant has a cozy garden setting, lounge and bar area for after dinner and very friendly staff. The owner can advise you about a good wine pairing.

The entrees are just delicious. We had the scallop, pork buns and tuna tartare. All were super great, special mention for the tuna tartare. So good, fresh and a bigger than expected portion.

Mains were entrecote and duck breast. Both were great again. The entrecote was just spectacular and not what you would expect in Ko Lanta.

The wines were also very good and hey have special draft beers as well.

All in all, a restaurant you should visit if you are in the area. Even the bathroom has lit candles and cotton towels to dry your hands. Is this a 4-5 star hotel? Only tip I would give the staff is take it easy. The friendliness of thai makes them so eager to serve up your dishes fast while this is such a treat you’ll just want to stretch...
