Phra Ae Seafood — Restaurant in Ko Lanta Yai

I’ve eaten lunch here consistently since first coming to Lanta. Authentic, local, southern Muslim Thai food with a vibe you simply won’t get at the tourist spots. I highly recommend trying the ‘khao gang’ dishes they have on offer in the metal pots out front each day, a great way to sample Thai dishes you’ve likely never had before. Some are spicy, some with very exotic flavors. The ladies who run the place are incredibly friendly and accommodating and the local islanders that show up at lunchtime are a delight to see, the true warmth and uniqueness of southern culture on display. After 6 years coming to Lanta, I can say that Phra Ae Seafood is on my top list for local food.

Nice service, good atmosphere and fantastic food! As vegan-vegetarian, they have plenty of options and happy to adapt dishes to your taste or preferences.
