Walked into Wok Inn as it looked inviting w/a menu that offers plenty of options. Ordered Seafood Pad Krawpau & was done absolutely perfectly with a slight touch of spice upon request.
Watermelon smoothie also tasty & the Owner (Boat...in pic) made sure to offer me the rest of what was left in the blender which I gladly accepted.
Will be going back for dinner tonight...red curry duck is sounding good staying nearby within walking distance, yet definitely worth a drive if you're looking for great variety & quality food on Koh Samui.
& the friendly kitty an added bonus for cat/animal lovers ๐
Pay Boat a visit at Wok Inn and you'll walk away more than satisfied ๐
August 2023 edit of course had to return after the initial visits in March... only have less than 24 hrs in Samui on a stop over from Phangan to BKK & immediately wok'd inn after I checked into my hotel Boat suggested the Pad Krapau & of course it was absolutely fantastic...so much so I ordered it again for later in the evening & Boat immediately offered without any hesitation to deliver it instead so it wouldn't be cold.
If you're in Samui even if for a few hours...Wok Inn is...
ย ย ย Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal. Authentic, dynamic, delicious southern Thai food. An unassuming spot run by a wonderfully friendly and diligent family - a favourite for locals. Portions are also significant and absolutely worth the cost. A complete western menu is also on offer, though we did not try it - judging by the general standard of the food Iโm sure itโs very good.
The whole white snapper with chilli sauce was outstanding, succulent and creatively presented. The satay skewers robust and flavourful, and the Pad prik gaeng spicy and deep in flavour - the classic southern shrimp paste adding a fantastic smokey layer. The unexpected star of the show was the glass noodle soup with minced pork, tofu and seaweed (Gaeng Juad). This soup was wonderfully delicate and refreshing, completed superbly by the juicy but fairy lean minced pork chunks.
An absolutely outstanding experience - cannot recommend it enough. The food is enough to carry this experience, but the friendly service and cozy atmosphere elevates it significantly. Come to...
ย ย ย Read moreWe found this place on our first day in Koh Samui based on the positive reviews online. It looked nice but casual, and we weren't sure what to expect but once we tried the food, we kept coming back every night. There's a good choice of Thai and western dishes on the menu, and the food is made to order which means you need to wait (how long depends on how busy it gets) and you receive a super fresh meal, made as you like it (more or less spicy). Worth ordering a starter whilst you wait (try the Lemon grass chicken!!! the Tempura or the Spring rolls). It is a small family business run by a couple, Chutin and Lek. All the dishes are cooked by Lek who's a great chef (can give you some advice if you're into cooking ;) We didn't have one meal there that we didn't love but the standouts for us were: Tom Yum soup, Cashew nut Chicken, Holy Basil Pork fried rice, Massaman curry, and of course Pad Thai. The couple are lovely and and make it a very friendly and welcoming place. There's a also a cat :) Highly...
