Beam’s Kitchen (Ma Der Restaurant) — Restaurant in Krabi Province

A hidden gem right next to the Ao Nang main road. You're in a completely different world., surrounded by big trees creating a peaceful atmosphere - it's hard to believe Ma Der is only a few hundred meters from the busy Ao Nang main road. Food is excellent. I have to specifically mention the grilled pork neck- it's my favorite so I've eaten this in many places. Ma Der has the best one. The spring rolls ham& cheese are definitely worth mentioning as well. Every other dish was also delicious. They have trampoline in the back of the restaurant and kids love it- and mommy and daddy can have a romantic drink together. Staff is of course friendly, helpful and professional. Highly recommended and will go again.

A little update regarding the saturday night BBQ nights. Don't miss this! You know when you think about those perfect, juicy ribs that are just bursting with flavor on every bite? The kinds that bring out the caveman in in you?

This is it! Amazing flavor, you can taste the delicious sauce and the perfect rub as different layers of flavor. The meat itself is cooked to perfection and touched up with open flames right before serving and is just falling off the bones....

We stopped in for dessert and had a wonderful experience. It was a Monday night and later so not crowded. The staff and owner were all wonderful. The friend bananas and ice cream was amazing. The restaurant was just a 10-15 minute walk from the beach area hotels and it was nice walking through the market on the way back. Additionally, I had been hunting for a glass coke bottle (I collect from countries I visit) and had been having trouble finding one. Paul (owner) went out of his way to locate for me and then wouldn’t let me give him any money for it! I really appreciate the hospitality and we’ll most definitely be back next time we’re in...

Also in Facebook wurde das Restaurant als absoluter Geheimtipp empfohlen.🙈 Voller Vorfreude sind wir dahin gefahren. Dem muss ich total widersprechen. Es geht schon los das Salz/Pfeffer usw nicht auf dem Tisch stehen oder gebracht werden wenn man sich plaziert. Hat was mit Service zu tun. Dann haben wir eine Vorspeise Ham& Cheese Rolls bestellt, als Hauptspeisen Crispy Pork und Chicken mit Cashew Nuts. Die Vorspeise und das Crispy Pork kamen zusammen. Das zweite Hauptgericht später. Klassischer Servicefehler. Ich hatte mir dann überlegt noch French Fries zum dem Pork zu bestellen. Fazit:😱👎 Alles geschmacklick null der Hit. Ich frage mich wie 12 Leute angeblich so gut gegessen haben🤔 im Bezug auf die Bewertungen. Crispy Pork wird kalt serviert.... French Fries leicht frittiert innen lasch Die Rolls dicker Schinken, Käse sehr geruchsstark und geschmacksvoll ist was anders. Chicken mit Cashew Nuts hat auch nichts mit thailändischen Essen zu tun. Alles schwamm in einer Fettsosse. Eine Weiterempfehlung kann ich absolut nicht geben. Es ist noch sehr viel Bedarf um gutes authentisches thailändisches Essen zu servieren. Die 830 Baht für Essen inkl. Getränke hätte man wo anders besser...
