I rarely give reviews, nevermind bad ones, but the service I received here was awful. Me and my boyfriend came here to grab dinner and the place was quite busy so they rushed us into placing an order quickly.
The older lady taking our order gave us the worst attitude. My boyfriend decided to change his drink (whilst we were still placing our order!) and she rolled her eyes and sighed.
I then informed her about my nut allergy. She then snaps at me and goes on a rant on how I had disrespected her by wasting her time and I had been completely irresponsible by not letting her know before I’ve sat down to eat. I was completely shocked at her for yelling at me and it ruined my mood for the evening. I am very responsible with handling my allergy when I eat out which is why I have had no problems whilst travelling round asia for 2 months.
I would understand the frustration if I told her my allergy AFTER ordering and the food being cooked but I told her WHILST placing the order. I don’t need to be insulted by my server and I definitely do not need a lecture from my server. Everywhere else I have ate in Krabi has happily accommodated my allergy and have kindly helped me swap out dishes or make changes if they did have nuts.
If you do have an allergy I would recommend not eating here. They do not have the patience to deal with it and will get offended by you ordering despite it being something out of...
Read moreIt was easily my favourite restaurant from my Thailand tour. Every seat in the restaurant was dilled and was the only restaurant I saw in Krabi that had people queuing to come in.
On arrival I was greeted by the most pleasant waiter who asked our party of 6 wait whilst he sorted our table. Offering drinks and a polite conversation. Once seated the drinks were quick to follow and I can 100% recommend the refreshing homemande lemon drink. We ordered a variety of the starters, of which I had the chicken satay with satay dip. The shrimp on toast was authentic and tasty.
Our waitress was so pleasant and you could see how busy she was but was in total control and made us feel very welcome and special. For mains we had the full crab with Black Pepper and the Full crab with curry paste. Other mains included the fried shrimp and garlic, asparagus, morning glory and plain cheese and ham pizza for the youngest (I know, we are working on her).
Both of the crab dishes were absolutely incredible, and up there in my top 5 dishes, i can not imagine visiting the area and not making a special trip here just for this dish.
Everything, from the service, authentic atmosphere to the incredible food puts this in one of my top 3 restaurants. Unfortunately I have no way to put another golden star on top of the 5 already.. maybe a feature Google should look...
Read moreIt must be an institution as there was a relatively long queue outside when we finished. I had high expectations looking at the place as it's pretty old and it was buzzing with activity. However it was the worst dinner we have had in Ao Nang and I think in part because we didn't come in wanting seafood.
We ordered pad Thai and it was the smallest dish and the worst pad Thai I have ever eaten, in or out of Thailand. It did have a lot of veggies at least. The fishcakes were done nicely on one side but not the other. The satay, needless to say was a poor cousin to their southern neighbour, Malaysia. The best dish of the day which somewhat saved this establishment but not in me or my kid's eyes was the bean sprouts and tofu. If it is great it needs to be consistent with all the dishes on the menu.
The drinks took 2 to 3 corrections before we gave up and took what was given. This was just fanta grape (which originally came as orange and then asked again and then came strawberry) and a chang when asked for singha. It was also uncomfortable to be squeezed in between other groups because it's just the 2 of us and maybe bec we were small sized Asians who wouldn't complain.
They serve those looking for the high spend seafood. We just came looking for a simple but delicious...
