Disclaimer- this is not a food review. We visited this restaurant on 12th Jan 2023. Being located right on the road along the beachside at Aonang Krabi and displaying some fresh seafood options, we were eager to try out some nice Thai soup and Italian options, and were on the verge of scanning the food menu. Yet as soon as we approached one of the waiters, he snatched away the menu and blatantly exclaimed -“ we do not serve Indians over here, as per our manager’s instructions”. We were simply shocked at his attitude, and wanted to know the reason behind it. By this time, the waiter had gone inside and 2 other men approached us and enquired about the commotion. We narrated the entire episode and waited for their response. These 2 guys seemed to be higher up in seniority. They called the waiter in question and asked him why he had said so. The waiter didnt mince words and simply said that management had instructed him to do so. Perhaps sensing that they were playing a losing game, these 2 gentlemen completely changed tactics and started publicly abusing us ( my wife, her 75 year old mother and I). We didnt want to pursue the discussion any further, took snaps of the place and left the place, stating that the same would be put up on social media. A few questions to ponder: In the 21st century is it still acceptable to promote exclusion on the basis of racial ethnicity? In the 21st century is it possible to get away with blatant racism and elder abuse? Is the local restaurant business community in Krabi harbouring such anti-India sentiments, when we as Indians have always cherished Thailand as a luxurious and amicable tourist destination? Is the racism and abuse just a ruse to dissuade us Indians who would identify the inferior quality of ingredients and spices they are clamly...
Read moreFood? I had zero stars I would have given zero. Service ? Absolutely negative stars. The staff was least interested in their service. The restaurant lable as vegan and vegetarian along with seafood but the staff have zero knowledge about vegan and vegetarian food. We ordered very basic simple Thai food and it came out tasteless , when I asked for spicy sauce , even after telling them again and again they got for us seafood sauce with fish sauce. We are loving in Thailand since last around 3 decades and know Thai food pretty well and the food they served us was no near to Thai food. While Thai food is flavorful we were served just some bland stir fried food. When I said fish sauce is not food vegan and vegetarian they said we have only this. I said ok.. you can take some green chillies , garlic salt and some lemon juice and pound it together , the waiter was rude to say “No” I asked “you can’t make it?” He replied “No chef can’t make it” after insisting he called another person and he said “ok” we got it but again there was taste and sincerity in the food. If you can’t serve food to the customer and can take of their requirements you are in wrong business and please...
Read moreWorst experience in Ao Nang! Seriously avoid this restaurant!!! If I could give a negative or any other rating, that would be my review! We ordered 3 beer and garlic bread, garlic bread was served cold; when we complained to the staff that the served food was cold and we would not be having it; they warmed the garlic bread in the oven and brought out burnt bread! After we said, we dont want to have it! And one of the staff saw us looking at the reviews of the place and thought that we are rating their restaurant and then the staff got so aggravated and aggressive about it that they started threatening us! Saying stuff like.. “this is thailand and you will not reach safe to your hotel”; etc.. We decided to leave after paying full including the garlic bread and unfinished beer and one of the staff even followed across the beach and threatened us again saying that you wont reach your hotel safe tonight. I have never experienced such behavior ever at any restaurant ever and especially to encounter something like this in Ao Nang which is a tourist friendly place.. shame on these people who employ such people at...
