The place was a disappointment in every aspect.
Its quality doesn't come close to the average Google reviews (I believe these reviews are paid for or otherwise falsified). The service was subpar: not all the drinks we ordered were brought without a separate request, and the bread with tzatziki that we ordered as a starter was delivered after a very long wait (40 mins)... AFTER we had already finished our main courses! Incomprehensible amateurism.
We tried to cancel these "starters" when the main courses were almost finished, but even this was unsuccessful. The waiter didn't speak English at all. The bill was also split among the table companions completely wrong, and we had to calculate each share ourselves. Nothing went smoothly in the service.
The food was very uninspiring. The Lamb Souvlaki was dry and tasteless. The wraps were extremely small (even if you choose "large" from the menu). The background music was generic techno, the kitchen was hidden in the back room, and there was no smell of food on the premises. Greek atmosphere was far from present! It's unfortunate that this bad experience was our last restaurant experience in Phuket before our...
Read moreWell, the Greek Restaurant in Patong has great reviews, that’s why I decided to go there since I haven’t eaten Gyros for a long time. Because I’ve been to Santorini and loved their Pork Gyros I went to this Greek Restaurant. The ambience looks quite nice. So I ordered a Pork Souvlaki Pita but the big portion with 2 skewers.
When I received it, it was the wrong bread (wrap instead of pita) and there were no fries inside the Souvlaki. You could have allegedly some, but it will be charged extra. The Pork Souvlaki cost already 230 THB. The meat was quite nice, but it didn’t meet my expectation. Considering the high price for its size, it’s not value for money. It was a nice experience, but I prefer to have an original Gyros with pita bread and onions.
Add: I mentioned to have a pita bread while ordering. Moreover, the pictures on the menu are showing a wrapped pita bread?! Is it costumer made?! If so, then the menu card is misleading in my eyes. Thanks for clarification and I rather prefer original Gyros in Santorini ;)
Nevertheless, good luck and...
Read moreToday I was walking along Nanai Road and got lost while searching for another restaurant. Instead, I happened upon Santorini and immediately recognising it as being Greek, I decided to give it a try. I had no idea what was in store but somehow it looked very cozy and inviting. My instincts proved correct as I enjoyed excellent fare and wonderful, warmheated service - all at reasonable prices. The chicken platter with roast potatoes was delectable, as was the Greek salad which was seasoned to perfection. The honey-soaked baklava was superb with a nice cup of coffee, and the yoghurt with honey and walnuts was refreshing. Interacting with Nick and Aung, a husband-and-wife team, and their assistant, was an experience in itself, marked by fine converation and spontaneous good humour. I have fewer than three days remaining on this trip to Phuket, but I intend to find the time to make a return visit, and unreservedly recommend this restaurant to...
