Briley Chicken and Rice — Restaurant in Patong

One of those hole in the wall restaurants that served good food. I mainly wanted to try the Hainanese chicken. Also ordered roast pork, crispy pork, and stewed pork legs. The chicken was lean and tender. The roasted and crispy pork was like anywhere else you eat. It wasn’t anything special. The stewed pork legs were tender as well with a lot of sauce over the dish. We ordered large dishes for each dish and rice for everyone to eat family style. The chicken soup that was served first was very flavorful. For dessert, the mango over sticky rice was delicious as well. Enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. The menu only consists of 8 items. Very nice and very value for money chicken rice, great for late breakfast, early lunch, normal lunch. at THB60, beats many other places. Visited twice during a 5 days trip. First time try the white chicken and already like the light fragrant smell and taste of the rice, not salty or MSG-ish at all. The chicken was also tender and chewy to the bite. Soup was also nice. Second time take-away the roasted chicken, and equally good and in fact, maybe prefer the roasted one. They even provide a packet of soup without extra charge. The most unassuming place and a bit of a trek off the main streets of Patong to get there but totally worth it! Food is so so delicious, and there are condiments on each table to add more spice if you want. We had the regular and roast chicken and I couldnt tell which was my favourite. I had a thai tea as well, was a bit apprehensive as I wasn't sure if they used tap water but I was totally fine. The staff were so kind and somewhat surprised to be serving tourists but they tried really hard to please us and I could see they were the same with locals.
