I went the other night for dinner because I was wanting something nearby that was cheap, quality, and a wide selection. The place was easy to spot on the main road. I was craving a little healthier so I ordered a Caesar salad and Tom yum chicken soup. Food came relatively fast. The waiter offered me rice for the soup for free but I declined but the offer was nice. The soup itself was sour but not creamy. I’ve had better Tom yum soup so the fact that it lacked some creaminess and was more of a thin broth was a small letdown.
However the main dish which I wanted was the Caesar salad. In all honesty the salad was the bomb. It was big with healthy clean greens and vegetables and the dressing was awesome. I can understand why people like coming here in the reviews. I would recommend the salad to anyone coming here who’s craving it. The only reason I gave the service a 4 was because I was the only in the restaurant and all the staff was staring at me which was awkward. Overall I think this place is a 4.5/5 for the...
Read moreWe spent about 8 days in the neighbouring resort over new years eve and frequently visited this restaurant. My thai wife and her niece always ate the local food which seemed very good. On our last day on Phuket, we ate there together again. They had again local food and I tried a Taco. From the taste alone it wasn't bad, but instead of ground meat they seem to use beef which was leftover from other dishes. Long story short, I'm sitting in Khao Lak now with food poisoning and fever. And I can almost guarantee the taco was the source, since I'm quite difficult with food and usually eat at franchise restaurants I can rely on. This evening was the only exception. I also don't want to flame anyone here, but raise awareness. The Friendly Restaurant - which is indeed friendly - has to take a deep look in their fridge and their procedures and customers should avoid meat dishes which aren't sterilised by thai...
Read moreI ordered a medium-cooked steak. At first glance, everything looked fine, but in the end, I received raw vegetables and completely raw meat inside. I showed it to the waiter, and he had no problem offering to fix it.
They cooked the meat more, but that didn’t make it any better. The steak turned into rubber—completely impossible to chew. My mood and appetite were completely ruined. I didn’t eat anything, just asked for the bill, paid, and left.
I’m not the type to make a scene, but I was genuinely surprised by how they had no shame in charging me for this. In the end, I paid almost 500 baht for half a can of Coke. And they didn’t even apologize.
This photo was taken after they...
