Okuna Sushi is a gem in Jungceylon Mall and one of the best options for fresh sashimi and sushi in Phuket—something that’s surprisingly hard to find in the area. Their salmon sashimi is exceptional and stands out as some of the best we’ve tried in Patong. The quality and freshness of the ingredients are impressive, making it worth the visit for any sushi lover.

Dinned here as a group of 5. The place has two menus - Okuna menu and Tendon menu - so they'll make distinct bills when you pay if you order from both menus. In the bill, they would include a service fee of 10% and then 7% tax. The prices in the menu do not include these taxes - we did not know that nor were told. The food is great, tasty. We had unagi rolls, which were yummy, and salmon rolls. There's only one ramen option in the Tendon menu. It's an okay ramen, the broth is a bit on the salty side, to my opinion its a miso-ramen with noodles, eggs, and two tempura shrimps. Not all of us could finish it as it's a bit salty. A lovely and welcoming place, especially thanks to the young waitresses who made the experience even better by speaking a few Japanese words—I happily tagged along.

Started with the salmon sashimi—thick and fresh slices, though the cut could have been better. Then came the avocado, which was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend the Mr. Ghibli Special!
