Saw Thai Food — Restaurant in Patong

Saw Thai Food was recommended to me by the front desk at my hostel up the street. I was dubious from the look of the place, but as is often the case with a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, it was awesome! Don't let the flies here and there or the hodge-podge furnishings fool you, the food here is fantastic, and it's half or even a third of the price of most of the places in the area that cater to tourists. I wound up eating here for nearly every meal and regretted my decision when I went somewhere else. They have wifi too. The green curry, fish curry, and Tom Kha Gai (chicken coconut soup) were my favorites, but the Phad Thai was good too. The ladies who run the place are very friendly and smiley. I loved the place so much that I learned how to add a listing to Google maps, so others can find it. Don't come here for atmosphere or classy dining, just come for a great, affordable meal in a no frills...

Upon our arrival in Phuket, my friends and I decided to order food online due to our fatigue. I opted for the Pad Thai with Shrimp, while my companions chose a variety of other dishes, the names of which now elude me. Regrettably, the culinary experience was nothing short of a disaster. A mere spoonful of the Pad Thai with Shrimp was enough to trigger a nauseous sensation, rendering it inedible.

Disheartened, I refrained from sampling any further and reluctantly discarded the dish. To our dismay, the consensus among my friends was unanimous – each dish, including the one I sampled, proved to be equally subpar. Although the restaurant had garnered favorable reviews on the Grab App, our firsthand encounter left us appalled. We won't be ordering...

The food here is incredible! We had a mix up with my order twice due to miscommunication and a bit of a language barrier. I felt terrible, but they were so accommodating. I got Drunken Noodles/ Pad Kee Mao with pork - the mix ups happened because this is usually served with seafood and the noodles they use are more like ramen egg noodles, but I've only ever gotten it with large flat rice noodles, so I'd suggest sharing a picture of what you're looking for. My husband got the crispy pork belly with steamed rice and he enjoyed his meal as well. The Thai iced tea was also delicious!
