Pros: The staff is very friendly and comprehensive, my room was usually quiet and with air conditioner, the location is good as it's close to the beach, Bangla Rd and the Smart Bus stop.
Cons: Aside from a few exceptions, the staff don't really speak English. This results in a big communication problem which sometimes could be a huge issue. In my case, I've had many of these situations with more than one person, but the worst of all was when I was trying to ask if the laundry soap was included in the laundry service or if I had to bring my own, and the lady was just saying "no, no, no". So I thought they didn't include the detergent and I had to bring my own. I even asked where to get it and she told me 7-Eleven, so I went there specifically to get the detergent, bought one, and by the time I came back and showed her the detergent she said "no, no, no" again. So apparently what she meant before was that the detergent wasn't necessary as it's included in the service. This was the worst situation, but things like this had happened a lot. If you just say "no, no, no" it could mean many things. Same thing when you just point at random things and do some sort of sign language. During the last half of my stay, I wasn't even trying to communicate and tried to sort everything out on my own as it's really tiring and frustrating when people don't understand you. Just speak English. English is not my first language either, I'm also stepping out of my comfort zone, and you work in a hostel. Laundry service: Speaking of laundry, that's another thing I didn't like. I was expecting the usual laundry where you just do a self-service thing with laundry machines and it's all done in a few hours. But instead, they do the laundry for you, which basically means that someone you don't know is touching and handling your own personal clothes which is not very pleasant and made me feel pretty uncomfortable. Also, you have to wait until the next day to have your clothes ready to use again, which I of course wasn't ready for either as laundry normally takes a few hours in other places. So I basically couldn't even take a shower for 24 hours. And a few bonus extra suggestions: It would be nice if the hostel guests could have a discount at your restaurant. We're basically already paying you just for sleeping there. If this was an actual feature, I would've given you one more star straight away only for that. KNOW THE ACTIVITIES: The same lady I was trying to communicate the most with and made me buy laundry soap for nothing also didn't know too much and was really unsure about the info related to local activities or places to visit, and it should be noted that these activities were literally sent to me by the property before my arrival in private message. So you're not providing information about the same things you send to us before coming to your place. Again: you work in a hostel, it would be nice to be able to give local suggestions, at least something as basic as prices. What kind of tips you could give to someone who is on a budget like me, for example? Well: it was only thanks to ChatGPT that I knew about the Monkey Hill Lookout which is full of monkeys (free entry), or the Big Buddha (also free). Or even more basic than that: beaches, markets, temples like Wat Suwankeereewong, etc. Even before getting to the hostel I was getting terrible recommendations on how to get there and I even attached a photo here to show that: In such screenshot you may see on the right side the poor directions I've got on how to get to this hostel, whilst on the left side the directions I've got from another random hostel in Kuala Lumpur after asking the same question to both. The left one is an example of a proper message on how to guide someone who is brand new. It's probably a copy-paste message, but it doesn't matter as long as it gets...

Bad: it’s just impossible to sleep there. The entire town was booked up, hence I booked a night at the hostel. I wasn’t aware that actually the room has 20 beds. Furthermore, there is a bathroom area with sinks, toilets and showers in the same room, which is not separated out with a door - basically not only do you have the noise of your 19 roommates fiddling with their bags and living their best life, but also the same 19 people would have a shower, brush their teeth etc, so you practically need to be deaf to be able to sleep there. When I stayed, one woman had a never ending spa session with Thai music and Thai reels going on loop from her phone way after 1am, which was a bit annoying (trying to be euphemistic here). Of course, the light was on all night, so not that great either, if you are actually trying to sleep at night. Probably if you are lucky to have a lower bunk bed, you have a closed cubicle, that’s nice and dark, so you have a better chance to sleep, if you have a top bunk, it’s nice and light all night long. As of the bed, it’s pretty uncomfortable. I suppose to preserve the mattress they kept the plastic cover on, so it’s pretty uncomfortable and slippery. Just as it was sold in the shop. Eye shades and ear plugs are the must, if you want to stay.
