Dick's Café Jomtien — Restaurant in Pattaya City

Excellent food and wine, which is a treat in Thailand (wine). The Thai and European food was excellent quality. Some of the dishes, such as the stuffed omelette, were a little small for the price. But overall a really good place to eat.

I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the poor service. Waiting staff were super slow and not very attentive. The waiter pushed me to get a dish I didn’t want and even though I said no he still ordered it and I was charged for it. Probably a language barrier more than anything.

While I realise this is more normal in Thailand, our friend received his main course and had finished it before ours arrived. Which makes the dining experience a little uncomfortable. I don’t mind dishes arriving at different times, but 20 mins later is a little poor.

Very Poor service. The waiters just ignore you even when it's not busy. No eye contact, no greeting nothing. I have waited half an hour and nobody came. You can wave, shout hello but if you really want to get their attention go and stand at the bar and order. They will be horrified you have entered their space. Service is incredibly slow. It's a shame because the Thai food is very tasty & well cooked. I asked a friend who never has to wait to be served why he gets served so quickly. Our last night in Jomtien we decided to try Dick’s Cafe. The staff were lovely and helpful and there is a really relaxed feel to it. We tried the spring rolls and shrimp cakes, which were ok but I honestly have had better in the area and for those who don’t know, shrimp cakes do have pork in them as well.
