Thousands of kilometers aways from home, after searching for vegetarian food in terminal 21 mall, pattaya, we lost all hope cause it was 10.30 pm already. That's when we spotted Indiagate restaurant, however by the time we reached there it was around 10.40. Most indian restaurants here close around 11 pm so I was ready to hear the worst when I was proved wrong. Amit with a smile on his face asked us to sit, relax and order our food. Again as we are a long way from India, wlI did not expect the food to be as it is back home but proved wrong twice in a span of 20 minutes. We had a tomato soup, 3 tandoori roti, mushroom masala and 1 chas for 600 baht, very reasonable. The last order on a Saturday night coming out of this restaurant's kitchen was delicious lip smacking food ie after keeping the restaurant running for almost 13 hours (from 10AM). Amit is a super man, the manager of the place, there were a few last customers when we came in, he made sure he was everywhere with a bright smile on his face. If you’re craving authentic Indian food that captures the flavors of India, India Gate is the place to be! I ordered the thali, which was a fantastic mix of different subjis like paneer tikka masala, chana masala, daal, rice, and mixed vegetables. Every bite was a reminder of classic Indian home-cooked meals, rich in spices and bursting with flavor. The roti and lacha paratha were the perfect accompaniment, and the garlic cheese naan was an absolute treat—creamy, garlicky, and deliciously soft.

To start, I had the papdi chaat, and while it was flavorful, I found that it had a bit too much chana for my taste. A bit more papdi and less chana would have elevated the dish from a 6/10 to a solid 9/10.

My only critique was the timing of the Diet Coke; it arrived with the meal rather than before, which would have been ideal. But this is a minor detail in the grand scheme.
