Absolutely massive menu, as everyone else, we ordered the pork belly, for the gram obvs, which was not as good as the beef. Saw another review which complained about it being tough, when ordering the waitress asked if we wanted medium rare, stated rare and it arrived beautifully cooked (judging by the review photo they ordered it well done)
The pork was amazing when it first came out, but so hot (as it had obvs just been cooked) it was uncomfortable to eat, but the time it cooled it was chewy and a little tough. I would say the person that awarded the badge to this dish sampled it at around 6.345 min, no more and no less, when it arrived at the table...who knows, an indication of eating time may help.
Enjoyed seeing brown rice on the menu as well. The food is excellent. Skip the pork though, despite it's badge, it lets the rest of the menu down with the random sauces. Pretty sure one of the three sauces was just yo basic beech sriracha
Price:
Have noted this down as 3-400 baht per person range as you could easily eat for around 300baht, as you can see from the photo the glass noodle salad/yum woon sen is enough for a decent lunch and I saw another table with a salad. We paid around 2,000 baht for 2 adults and 3 kids (one is 11) but we over ordered, based on the prices, and the bib gourmand awards (and London pricing) we assumed the plates would be more tapas sized
Would recommend 1 dish for a single diner and 3 maximum for 2, with rice. We asked the waitress at a few points during ordering if we had ordered enough and she just said you can order more (in Thai) which brings us nicely to service.
Service
Having experienced hackney service for the past 20 or so years, I'm pretty used to blase service, however this is meh on a level that could probably teach Shoreditch waiters a thing or two.
Food comes out ad hoc in a pretty random order, I mean it's not a problem as we ordered to share, not sure if they go to slaughter the pig to make their signature dish but the meats came towards the end of the meal and the sausages, which I'm sure are listed as a starter came last.
Dietary requirements
Gluten free can be accomdated, however due to the bib gourmand I didn't disclose my requirements in favour of full flavour and ordered sensibly. Many Thai dishes are naturally gluten-free and as they state "as your grandma made" (or something along those lines) assumed they would stick to traditional recipes, so chose dishes that are generally gluten free
Coeliacs in Thailand no matter how careful, the cross contamination risk is high but would say this place is as safe as possible in Thailand.
Atmosphere
May have been better inside the restaurant, but it's a shopping centre, we have 3 kids so we're seated outside, probably so we didn't annoy other guests, to be honest I'd be pissed to sit next to me too.
Summary if you like to skim read
Don't order the signature dish, it's disappointing in comparison to the rest of the menu.
Can eat here, well, for under 500 baht including a drink.
Expect your dishes to come randomly so if you're ordering one dish per person and aren't gonna share with your table....you might all eat at random times
Defo dairy free, gluten free, risk of cross contamination, but probably one of the less risky choices for gluten free diets.
A better location would probably have made it easier to overlook the mediocre service
The excellent food ensured a...
Read moreStay away like fire!! Just a bad place! Shame on the Michelin institution Let's start with shocking service that doesn't understand English: the waitress in the middle of the order went to the kitchen and then serve another table, suddenly the main course arrives and we haven't ordered appetizers yet After being replaced by a nicer waiter, we ordered several appetizers, here too there were communication malfunctions, one dish did not arrive, although sometimes we asked and said that the order went to the kitchen, we did not want to comment again because soon we will talk about the food, and you will understand that it is a pity for the additional dish, very lucky Now we will talk about the food: Most trivial food, with no significant flavours, We ate lots of Thai and northern food especially, at every stall the most Simply, the dishes are 10 times tastier. Papaya salad really sweaty Steamed leaf salad with no flavors, we asked for soy for heart dip Salmon tacos are very simple, looks beautiful Shocking Pathay The only dish that was special to my surprise was a dish we made ourselves with kale leaves. Interesting and refreshing combination of flavors After realizing this, I gave up on the following dishes. We went down to eat at food stalls that were at the festival It's such a shame and I'm sad to write Now such a review but this is the Unfortunately I haven't looked at the reviews they wrote here before, and now that I see I understand Also to note that they have no idea what vegetarian dishes are on their menu, and what can be done, are really confused....
Read more(1) I gave 9 to 10 to the service: a good atmosphere, friendly staff, and you can use visa (2) I gave 5 to 10 to the cuisine on average: a. fried pork(the first pic) got 6 because it is good in texture but not that good in taste. b. fried rice with pineapple(the 2nd pic) got 8 because it is delicious. It should be noted that the flavor of soy sauce was stronger than the pineapple, which is not what it is supposed to be. c. the green leaf dish(the 3rd pic) got 0, because it was totally a disaster. The chef had put so much salt in it that it even tasted bitter. I had to ordered a drink to quench my thirst, which was useless. At last, I asked to cancel the dish and they agreed. d. the fish(the 4th pic) and the prawns(the 6th pic) got only 4 is that they were neither fresh. They tasted like that they were about to go bad because the meat was pretty loose. (3) The bill was 2249.5 baht in total. You can try any other better dishes in Pattaya than in here. You should see why they got 4.8...
