Had an absolutely amazing experience at the restaurant. The staffs was super nice and very accommodating when I had to change my reservation a couple hours before the reservation time because my friends got sick.
I’m also impressed by their nice decorations of fruits in their cup of ice for mineral water. Wish they sell a bigger bottle of water though… we have to order so many and it feels like a big waste of plastics.
We liked pretty much everything we ordered. If I have to pick one that stand out most, if would be the Haemui Pajeon (Korean Seafood Pizza/พิซซ่าเกาหลีทะเล). It tastes amazing. Nice balance of crispy underside and soft/slightly chewy inside.
The restaurant is about ~5-10 mins walk from BTS Ari. Alternatively, you can park in a few nearby buildings (e.g. Baan Yoswadi Buidling, which I believe is 30 THB per hour). My group did not bring our cars this time but most other restaurants in the area will let you stamp for 2 hours of free parking in those nearby buildings.
If I have to deduct anything, it’s that their only have an option of Chang or Singha for beer, and that extend to their Soju Bomb. I don’t like neither of those beer and they give the Soju Bomb a bitter taste.
Nevertheless, overall still...
Read moreTo preface my thoughts, I'll admit I'm not that familiar with Korean food. I was told that Joha is a great restaurant and was recommended the kimchi fried rice with pork and cheese in particular. I am a big fan of kimchi, however, and this dish just lacked the flavor and spice that I was told to expect. It was okay, but nothing to write home about.
I'd also read reviews by others claiming the pork was great. I went for the pork neck on hot stones and found it tougher than I'd hoped. And, again, not that flavorful. The kimchi jeon pancake was probably my favorite dish of the three. Crispy and savory with a satisfying occasional crunch provided by the kimchi.
Three of the four sauces I found too sweet for my taste. But, that's probably just me -- I'm not a huge fan of sweet flavors in main courses. The one I did enjoy had sesame seeds in it.
All in all, I found the flavors of all dishes to be muted and underwhelming. Perhaps Korean food flavors are a bit less stark than those of other cuisines I'm used to. The food here wasn't bad, just not something I'd go out of...
Read moreJoha in Ari has secured its place as my go-to Korean restaurant, second only to Bornga. Specializing in made-to-order dishes, Joha offers an authentic culinary experience that never fails to impress.
One of the highlights of Joha's menu is their Pajon, Korean Pizza, which boasts a delightful crispiness that's simply addictive. Each bite bursts with flavor, making it a must-try for anyone dining here.
Another standout dish is the Sundobu, Korean Kimchi Soup, which strikes the perfect balance of sourness and mild spiciness. The tofu in this soup is exceptionally soft and adds a delightful texture to the dish.
While the description may be modest, the Grilled Pork at Joha speaks volumes through its taste. It's simply the best around, with tender, flavorful meat that keeps me coming back for more.
Overall, Joha delivers an exceptional dining experience with its focus on made-to-order dishes and authentic Korean flavors. Whether you're craving classic favorites or looking to explore new culinary delights, Joha is sure to satisfy your taste buds. Highly...
