Find humor in my share ; pulled up @ 3 minutes shy of our 6pm ( 18:00 ) reservation and the 28 minute drive from Wang Phong was filled with slow drivers, drivers stopping for no reason, double lane blockers , red lights , a bit stressful yet we made it to Brasserie ! I asked Gigi, please get in , get our seaside reserved table and I will park ( not easy ). The hostess said something yet I had no time to listen as cars, bikes, trucks were stopped on this one laner behind me. I drove our Haval thru the maze of carts, bikes, people walking with inches to spare and made a big loop through 2 traffic lights to get somewhat close to the restaurant ( 200 metres ). I took an alleyway street to cut across that I had seen our first drive and Murphys law kicked in ; a small flat bed pickup beginning to unload several hundred cases of water one at a time. I attempted to squeeze thru with mirrors hitting their truck and my opposite side wheels running up on two concrete blocks, this isn't going to work. Can't back up either ? So the question is will the driver of the truck take a moment and pull forward 5 metres to allow this farang to pass in a very busy neighborhood of bars, restaurants, massage businesses, etc. No he didn't until the one boy finished unloading the skyscaper load of cases of water. I was impatient inside yet polite & respectful outside when they finally left and my having to back up to allow them out. Oh well, I walked several minutes with google maps walking guide & found my way back. Walking upstairs to the restaurant and seeing Gigi sitting the idyllic seaside table for two ! Here she tells me what the Thai hostess was trying to communicate to me that they had a parking place in a mini off street lot reserved for us ??? What an adventure unlike any other over a Lifetime just getting into a restaurant ? Ironically, a tasty set of appetizers awaiting. Menus offered , and a greeting by name from Owner of 10 years ( Brasserie has 30 years to their credit ! ), his name Phillipe Damonte, a very personable man. Ok, garlic cheese bread too die for, thank you & six slices ! Also a basket with a couple of fresh dinner rolls. # 23 was my entree and when it arrived , an OMG moment !!! I have not had a steak of this generous thickness anywhere in Thailand and I have covered nearly 70 provinces in both 39 months living in Khon Kaen & Phetchabun and ten previous long duration stays spanning twenty years coming from the USA. Beautiful dark sear , tender to the slice, juicy & cooked to my picky medium rare toward medium request. Expertise on the grill ! I had read reviews prior & knew that the red wine reduction was the faborite sauce of choice and it certainly was. The steak fries were tasty , fresh cut, lightly salted & served with American Catsup thank you. Gigi sipped on her Heineken choosing not to eat as she had Somtom earlier. The three servers were conspicuous yet never approached us ( forgiven ) , as I would have ordered more garlic cheese toast and asked for ice for both my wifes beer and my water. When I waved to them and said " Nam Kaen Khup " , which means ice please, one young server showed up with opened bottles of water and a bucket of ice ? ( forgiven as she has a kind demeanor & misunderstood ). The vegetable medley sauteed in oil and condiments was the single best vegetable accompaniment in memory. So the meal is off the charts Incredible !!! We enjoyed the Gulfs surf brushing the shoreline a near distance from our table. No hurry to leave we shared a dessert , so many sumptuous choices & settled on a raspberry crumble. They baked it in a ceramic bowl & it was piping hot to our delight with vanilla scoop above. Perfect finish ! Earlier I had wished a glass of wine & was hopeful someone would suggest red, white, rose. No mention ( forgiven ) as the Choices are on a wall menu & I didn't have my reading glasses. Were the new staff members trained just a little better I would have easily spent 300 baht more and then some. Off season now after Songkran and businesses should be alert to not only...

A Charming Fusion of French Cuisine and Thai Scenery

Nestled on the sandy shores, within the rustic charm of an old Thai wooden house, is an exquisite French dining experience that captures the essence of beachfront elegance. The restaurant, a delightful surprise to any culinary enthusiast, offers a breathtaking view of the sea, complemented by the gentle caress of the ocean breeze.

As you take your seat, you'll notice the meticulous attention to detail in the table settings, each element carefully curated to enhance the dining experience. The menu is a tantalizing blend of French culinary tradition and fresh, local seafood. Classic French offerings like succulent escargot and adventurous frog legs are prepared to perfection, inviting diners to indulge in a taste of France with a tropical twist.

The service is impeccable; well-trained staff glide effortlessly through the space, offering insights and recommendations that ensure your meal is nothing short of remarkable. Each dish is presented with a finesse that matches the establishment's sophisticated ambiance.

To elevate your meal, the restaurant boasts an impressive selection of wines, with French and Italian vintages standing out. Whether you prefer a crisp white to accompany your seafood or a bold red to pair with heartier fare, the wine list promises a perfect match.

In conclusion, this lovely restaurant is more than just a meal; it's a culinary journey that marries the charm of Thailand with the flavors of France. With its stunning setting, exceptional food, and fine wines, it comes highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable...

This place is more beach front cafe than fine French dining. I came here because of some of the reviews that I read. I am not impressed. Just a average type meal compatible to a Denny’s in America. A flank steak with no choose of side options only undercooked frozen French fries mushy over salted veggies and a bad béarnaise sauce. The only French thing about this restaurant is the name the people at the table next to me speaking French and the word French in the French fries that came with my very thin steak. I ordered the crêpe Suzette for dessert, which I am accustomed to having prepared at my table. It came from the kitchen and was nothing more than what appeared to be out of the package soft flour tortilla shells with an orange sauce and vanilla ice cream. I really question some of the reviews i read like best steak in Hua Hin. Off the top of my head I can think of four other places where there’s fine dining and you can get a decent steak and a choice of sides like potatoes, au gratin, a baked potato, steamed vegetables, steamed asparagus and salad for a comparable price and a much better wine list. I would not return to this restaurant. The view is nice and the staff is welcoming with good service but menu for both food and wine is lacking and...
