From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The intimate setting, adorned with rustic decor, instantly made us feel at home. The owners themselves greeted us and took our order, passionately explaining each dish with genuine enthusiasm.

Our meal began with the exquisite truffle burrata, a dish that perfectly balanced rich and earthy flavors. Next, we indulged in the baked portobello mushroom, a must-order delicacy that was simply out of this world. The tiger prawns pasta followed, cooked to perfection with a delightful blend of fresh ingredients and robust flavors.

For those who enjoy a bit of heat, don’t forget to ask for their chili jam. Be very careful though, as it packs a serious punch! It added an exciting kick to our pasta dish.

The highlight of our main course was undoubtedly the lamb chops with a special mint sauce. The tender meat, paired with the refreshing mint, created a harmonious symphony of tastes that left us craving more. To complement our meal, the wine list offered an impressive selection, enhancing the flavors of each dish beautifully.

No meal at La Gaetana would be complete without ending on a sweet note, and the tiramisu did not disappoint. It was the perfect finale to a memorable dining experience.

Food was delicious. Service is good but I don’t give 5-star since there was something bothering my mind during the visit. I ordered a pasta with seafood in tomato sauce and got asked if I really want only tomato sauce. I thought he meant about the sauce so I said yes, just tomato sauce. (I don’t want anything else mixed in tomato sauce eg. mushroom, basil, etc.) My friend later told me to recheck if it was ordered correctly because she felt that he might misunderstand. And turns out he did. So when I said I’d like seafood in tomato sauce, he promptly said, this is the exact phrase and I quote, “see? 😏 Do you know any woman that doesn’t change her mind?” That is kind of embarrassing. It’s not me that change my mind but it’s him that didn’t hear me correctly! That’s not the only one, after we all got the dishes, the waitress sprinkled the cheese on top the other dishes. So I’d like to try some on my dish and asked the chef. He then showed a big disappointment word on his face 😩 for a while (which I don’t understand what’s going on at that time) and later explained that it’s kind of bad with seafood. I’m more than happy to take a basic italian food lesson during the meal (and of course, it is nice to suggest the guest what is best and what is not good) but not starting with displeasure, direspectful impolite action. Simply unforgettable. This is an Italian restaurant in Phuket that can take on any fine dining restaurant in major cities such as NY, Paris, Milan, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Gianni the owner has owned and run this restaurant for 25 years. Rarely is a restaurant that does every course to perfection (texture, moisture, flavor, temperature). Bruschetta crunchy, tomato flavorful; beef, salmon, tuna capaccio perfectly sliced and flavored; Italian Sausage out of this world!; lobster with homemade pasta is perhaps the best pasta dish globally; THE BEEF RAGUE WAS THE BEST PASTA EVER (this from 9 year old daughter). We got four desserts for four people for the first time in a long time at any restaurant. Gianni made the desserts with us and taught the children how to do it. What an incredible night!
