When we got a table, before 7 PM, the server doesn't show up on the menu and just tells us what they have by Thai. We misunderstood the menu. Yes, we are not local from Phuket and we never visit here before. Only we watched many videos on Youtube. We rent a car for visiting many good local restaurants and here was our most expected place. We didn't know that we can see the menu with pics in front of the food cart. I couldn't see the menu well from the front side because the oil was flying to customers by a fan. It causes coughs to every customer and passenger. I’m so sorry to ask changing the order but I see and listen to that staff's face and talk to each other. I hear that the woman main chef said “why to try to change order” the other staffs, one of the guys who cooked behind and one server one young girl, gesture to make feeling bad. We wanted to go out at that time but we were waiting because already we tried to visit another place for serving the same menu but there was closed, yes many restaurants close because of the COVID-19 issue, and we felt tired. The first time we ordered two dishes but I ordered three dishes because I felt that if I hesitate to choose the menu they gonna says something worst to us. Anyway, we got three dishes but we recognized that we ordered the same base from our dishes only difference is toppings. I expected a crispy one but everything was wet. the shell was smelly and fried pork skin has hair. We got a table in the first place from the food cart so flying oil comes to us. I start coughs and couldn't take dishes. We tried to change the table during waiting dishes but we couldn't tell them to that because we don't want to hear bad telling from staffs again. We just make a box and bring back to the hotel and took these. And I write this review at night time because we can not sleep from stomach pain and go to the toilet. There was look so dirty. I think so the staffs are felt so tired ‘it's time to close the store and back...
Read moreGoogled "best street food in Phuket" & found it recommended by Michelin so I drove over to try it.
I got the oyster one & seafood dish. Portions were good & prices were super affordable.
Dishes all had oysters (small cooked ones) taro cubes, squid, prawns, bean sprouts, pork fat, eggs & other veges all mix fried together.
The main seafood pieces were cooked in a nice crispy batter & the vegetables were served raw which gave the super fried dish a refreshing kick & vegetable-crunch.
Great place for a unhealthy snack! Sort of resembles the Taiwanese ou wa jian or our Singapore orh lua - fried oyster.
The place also serves free water, lemon drinks & other beverages which I didn't explore.
Since it's a street side stall, don't expect any aircon & expect a hoard of flies to visit you while dining😆
Would definitely...
Read moreArrived there almost 8 pm. Only us there during that time. No other customers sitting in restaurant. Owner and server saw us but they did not ask or take order. We order fried mussel but they could not hear. They still keep eating their dinner next to our table. Finally one of owners took our orders. Slow cooking even no customer. While we were waiting for food, children of owners kept crying and owner shouted at her children. Very noisy atmosphere.
Taste of fried mussel is not what I expected. It’s like omelette with mussel and was different from fried mussel I prefer and have ever tried.
I did not try O taw but if I would try. I will order and take away not dine.
Service was not good...
