One of the most ambient and relaxing cafĆ©s Iāve come across in Rawai! The first thing that really stood out to me was the vibeāit's just perfect. With sea-facing seating and a calm, breezy atmosphere, this place instantly puts you in vacation mode. Sitting by the ocean, enjoying good food with that view... itās hard not to fall in love with the setting.
The food didnāt disappoint either. I tried a few items, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The grilled fish, in particular, was absolutely deliciousāperfectly cooked and seasoned, it was easily the highlight of my meal. While the prices might seem a bit on the higher side at first glance, I personally felt it was quite reasonable considering the quality, location, and overall experience.
What really made the visit even better was the service. The staff were genuinely helpful, especially when it came to recommending dishes based on what we liked. You could tell they were trying to make the experience enjoyable, and that always leaves a good impression.
If you're in Rawai and want a place to relax, enjoy some great food, and soak in a beautiful view, this cafĆ© is definitely worth a stop. Iād go back in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell, Im not a picky eater, but I am a chef and have very sensitive taste buds. I ordered the Flip side burger and a beef burrito. The burger looked good with a whole pickle next to it, and a couple onion rings on top. Sadly, the pickle was so bland, and the beef patty lacked seasoning. Good quality cheese should be mentioned to be fair.
The burrito was 60% rice 10% veg and beans and only 30% beef..!!! It also lacked seasoning. The rice was a bit bland, I could barely feel or taste the beef except for when I got some chewy parts. Most probably blue skin, which means the beef needs better butchering. Sadly, the pico de gallo had more flavor than the burrito itself, and the guacamole was just pico de gallo with a hint of avocado.
In general, I would give my meal a 6 out of 10. But I actually was expecting better, at least the flavors. Please tell your kitchen staff to be generous with seasoning, especially burger patties and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocated just down the street in Rawai Beach, Flip Side is easily accessible and appealing due to its modern and quirky furnishings. The ads also readily mention that they offer takeout, which is handy if you are on the move, or just want to grab a bite to eat in the comfort of your own room. The menu decidedly leans toward international cuisine and with that comes the pricing, which is a bit higher than what you would be used to in Phuket, but calling it affordable is still not a stretch. There is a small language barrier at first, but it is usually solved quickly by staff who are better trained. The food doesnāt take long to cook and, when you open the box, it also smells and tastes delicious. The place just feels posh - as compared to other establishments across the island - and the experience is as well, just needing some ironing out to get it to a...
