Their brekky roll is like I'm back in Sydney - crispy bacon, decent eggs, onion jam on point and extra hash Browns = chefs kiss. Oh, and their coffee is as good as Melbourne (oatmilk latte is silky smooth and right temperature). Double ristretto is great too, which is a coffee choice most island baristas don't seem to know how to make.
Parking for cars is limited when it's busy, but bikes can park anywhere so all good.
Because it gets super busy sometimes; If you have a laptop it's best to stick to the smaller tables around the perimeter of the cafe (which are the ones that also have plugs too!). Chairs comfortable as, and the Owner is a Nordic bloke and is always super keen to make sure everything's ok with your experience there. Don't be annoyed if you get asked to move or buy a coffee or something by him though - I got totally absorbed with some coding with headphones in, didn't realise it had got super busy and the Owner was SUPER apologetic about asking me if I could move - which I did because I was mortified I was taking up a table when others were waiting (sorry!!!)
Anyhoo - Was impressed with Chalong branch enough to try Rawai branch - and didn't disappoint. Cheers, hope someone finds this review useful.
TL;DR - a great cafe, busy and lively with fantastic coffee, comfy chairs and decent wifi as you nom on great food with a great view of Rawai beach. A+...
Read moreJust had breakfast there, my first visit. Clean, simple interior, high stools by the window, booths and tables, a couple of tables outside, casual but on the contemporary side. I ordered a flat white (excellent) and the bacon and egg sandwich. They use 2 pieces of back bacon, not streaky rashers, 2 eggs. I was unsure whether or not I would like the addition of cheese but I must say it was great, tasty, a cheddar I think but not sure. It was melted onto one side of the sandwich bread (a small, soft white baguette type of affair with grains on the top) and it tasted wonderful, top marks for that. Eggs were fried just right fo a sandwich, firm but not dry yolks. The only thing I didn't rave about was the tomato relish on the inside of the other part of the sandwich. It was on the menu description, so this is not a critique, just a warning in case you don't like a sweet, jammy relish with your bacon and egg. It was actually nice, had a tiny little kick of spice to it, I just would not choose it again on a bacon sarnie :-) The staff were lovely and I am sure they would make any changes you requested. I...
Read moreI’m very impressed with this place. I’ve been searching for a tasty “European” breakfast/light lunch in Rawai for a while. As you can see in the photo, the salad is huge and incredibly delicious. Perfectly cooked chicken (not dry), lots of lettuce, fresh tomatoes, and cucumbers. The poached egg is perfectly prepared. My husband had an omelet with salad, and it was great too. It may seem like a simple meal, but there aren’t many places here that do this kind of “classic” food so well. For example, there’s another café nearby, but they clearly don’t compare, even though they’re more popular.
I also want to highlight the staff. I don’t like blue cheese, and the waitress immediately offered a substitute—actually, several options.
The smoothies are great as well. Overall, I highly recommend this place. 10/10.
P.S. If you’re keeping an eye on protein in your diet, they have protein shakes here. And not just one or two...
