Jek Meng Hainanese Chicken Rice has been around since 1975. It is known for its 2 colours chicken (for the Thais). One is for boiled chicken (white colour) and the other is fried chicken (yellow).

The place opens from early morning and lots of queue in and out at all times.

The place is at samyan/chula uni area. It is pretty far to walk from BTS National Studium, but it is still walkable.

The chicken rice here is tasty. Good cooked oily rice. Great boiled chicken at a very reasonable price. There's fried pork belly for sell too.

Place has no air con. Only fan.

20/4/2565 ช่วงบ่ายแก่ๆ เข้าไปสั่งเมนูไก่สองสีไม่หนังพิเศษ 1 จาน และ น้ำแข็ง 1แก้ว ชำระเงินก่อน แคชเชียร์ลำโพงสั่งออเดอร์ให้แต่ไม่บอกว่าไม่หนัง ทางเราก็ย้ำว่าไม่หนังถึง 2 ครั้ง ทางเขาก็รับปากทั้ง 2 ครั้ง เราก็มาเลือกโต๊ะนั่งเช็ดแอลกอฮอล์ที่โต๊ะตามความกังวลส่วนตัว พนักงงานตักน้ำแข็งพร้อมเอาน้ำจิ้มมาเสริฟ เราก็นั่งเล่นมือถือไป แต่สิ่งที่มาเสริฟคือ "ข้าวมันไก่สองสีธรรมดา (จานเล็กกลม)" แต่ยังดีที่ไม่มีหนัง แล้วเราก็ทักท้วงพนักงานว่าสั่งพิเศษนะ (ก็มันต้องจ่ายเงินแล้วในราคาพิเศษ) พนักงานก็หยิบจานนั้นไป เราก็คิดว่าจะทำให้ใหม่ แต่ๆๆๆ สิ่งที่ได้ คือ เอาจานนั้นไปโป๊ะข้าวมันมาครึ่งทับพี แล้วมาเสริฟ พร้อมคำขอโทษ มันคือ! อะไร เราก็หิวนะ แต่นี่มัน ไก่ต้มไม่เพิ่มเหรอ ไก่ทอดไม่เติมเหรอ คือ เหมือนเดิมทุกประการ มีแค่ข้าวโป๊ะมาจะเต็มทับพีก็ไม่ใช่ ครึ่งทับพีเห็นจะได้ มันทำให้อารมณ์แบบว่าว่านี่ เรามาซื้อข้าวกินนะ ได้คำขอโทษจากปากพนักงงานพูดมาก็จริง แต่สิ่งนี้กลับทำให้เสียความรู้สึกมาก (ปรกติมากินร้านนี้ค่อนข้างบ่อย เพราะใกล้ที่ทำงาน จึงรู้ว่าปริมาณเหมาะสมควรได้เท่าไรลักษณะจากพิเศษต้องเป็นจานเปล) เราเลยแบบ เห้อๆๆๆ นั่งกินน้ำชา รินสัก 2-3 แก้ว สงบอารมณ์แบบว่ากินไม่ลงเลย แล้วก็ลุกออกจากร้านโดยไม่แต๊ะข้าวจานนั้น และตั้งใจว่าจะไม่มาอีกเพราะคิดว่า เราก็ได้สั่งชัดเจน แต่การเอาไปแก้ไขปรับปรุงของพนักงานทำให้เสียความรู้สึกยิ่งกว่า มันทำให้เราพอๆ...

Best Hainan Chicken Rice in this area. Chicken meat is super tender. Soup is very tasty. Option for many Chinese soup type. Order and pay at the counter. Service is average and the place is not tidy which is common in BKK street food restaurant. I often come to this place when i craft for chicken rice for dinner and order boiled chicken to take home.
