Greasy Spoon — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

“English Breakfast” They get many things right but also get many things wrong. The good; The roasted tomato is excellent. The sausage is very good and very large. The bread/toast is excellent. The beans are beans and are good as well as the eggs and the coffee is also good. The not so good; The service is a little bit and miss. I’ve been a few times and while staff will greet and seat you immediately, I often have to flag them down to order breakfast. There are more flies here than at any restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. They’ll have fans blowing and still the flies are all over you, your food, your coffee… everywhere. The pricing is a miss for me. While the breakfast is decent, there are much better value options on the island. My personal pick for best overall breakfast value is Happy Land restaurant. Lastly, and again on pricing, the basic English breakfast is 200B even. This means that if me and my partner have breakfast, 400B is going to the business and zero to the staff. To me this represents either a lack of respect and/or thoughtfulness with respect to their staff.

If they offered this same breakfast with half of a sausage, half a slice of toast, no fried onions and less beans at $150 I’d probably be there...

I can’t say anything about the food because it never reached me but the delivery service is terrible! I was waiting for my food for more than an hour and for any reason the driver said he can’t find my place. I gave him instructions over the phone and according to the pictures the restaurant sent me he was quite close. After an hour they just texted me that they don’t deliver my food and they are sorry. Great place to have breakfast!

Tried it the first time after seeing it from the street, and ended up coming three days in a row to have breakfast.

The avocado toast is really good, the shakes are delicious, and the filtered coffee is tasty. Prices are pretty affordable, around 100-200 bats for plate (some even less than 100). And the portions are generous.

The service is also really friendly (not super good english so might be worth talking slowly).
