Great little restaurant that we stumbled across near our hotel - so good that we ended up eating here on 2 out of our 3 days in Koh Phangan! In particular we would recommend the seafood pad thai (the squid and shrimp tasted like it was fresh from the sea), chicken pad kra pao, green curry and the Thai fried rice. It's places like these which make Thailand such a special culinary hotspot.
Please do not pay too much attention to the 1-star reviews posted by Hilary Egglestone and D Anderson. We happened to be in the restaurant when a tourist (part of a trio of Americans) started complaining loudly and aggressively at the owner about a burger he had been served and which he wanted to return. We overheard the American tourist insult the restaurant's cooking and insist in not paying (despite the incredibly cheap cost of the menu), to which the owner responded by explaining that it's illegal to not pay for a meal in restaurants in Thailand. The American tourist proceeded to attempt to goad the owner into calling the police. It was only after an intervention from a group of UK tourists when the situation defused and the American tourist paid the c.150 baht price of his burger.

Read moreWe just had the worst experience here. I’m floored that this restaurant has such high reviews. I ordered panang curry and it was delicious although the portion was very small for the inflated price. My partner ordered a burger and fries. The portion of fries was very small. The burger came completely cold and tasted bad. We’re not ones to complain but it was inedible so he mentioned to the waiter that he couldn’t eat it and asked to not pay for it. This is where the drama ensued. The owner came over and asked what was wrong. My partner explained that it was a really bad burger and tasted off and he couldn’t eat it. The owner took the plate away and threw it out. He then returned to our table and raised his voice loudly explaining it isn’t customary in Thailand to just not pay. He had to pay. He never offered to make it again and it is now in the garbage but my partner still must pay. The argument got loud and the owner began poking my partner in the chest and yelling at him in front of the whole restaurant. In the end my partner paid for the “worst burger he’s ever had in his life” because he felt that the shop owner was a level down from becoming physical.
I don’t recommend eating here. The restaurant next door is cheaper and way...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and decided to sit down for a spontaneous meal. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the time to recommend several dishes to us. When our food arrived, he went the extra mile to explain where in Thailand each dish originated and even taught us the proper way to eat them.
The food itself was absolutely fantastic—truly authentic and full of flavor. I have to say, it was the best Massaman Curry I’ve ever had! Each bite was a perfect balance of spices and textures, leaving me wanting more.
The attention to detail, the passion for Thai cuisine, and the warm hospitality of the owner made this dining experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food served with heart, I cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely be...
