SIWA Latte Beach and Eatery by Lamai inn99 — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

At first we really liked the vibe and our drinks, as the cafe has a nice seating area and a pretty view of the sea - you can’t beat their good location. What spoiled our impression was that they brought some tiny sweets with our hot tea, so we ate them thinking they were complimentary. They do it in some places like giving you a tiny chocolate or cookies with your tea, so no wonder. At the end of the evening they said “sorry the sweets were meant for another table, please pay”. Well? In my experience working at hospitality, when an employee made a mistake, the establishment had to suck it up and the client didn’t have to pay for employees’ mistake! That’s customer care. But not here. Of course we didn’t want to get angry and argue during our honeymoon, so we paid. But it left a sad feeling of being scammed. Even if it wasn’t your intention to scam us, I hope you manage to see why we felt like it. For other guests - double check with staff everything they bring to make sure it’s something that comes...

Our experience in here was awful. We ordered 3 dishes. The first two were very good, but after we took one bite out of the third dish, we didn’t like the taste and called the waiter. He said that we can’t send the dish back because we ordered it and once it was out we have to pay for it. Keep in mind we took one bite. After some talking he got the manager that told us the same thing. We asked him how is it possible that they are the only restaurant that doesn’t offer to send dishes back or give us something in return.. he said that it’s like buying a car… wth..? No customer service or customer care.. they made us pay for it even though we didn’t eat any of it. Don’t recommend at all....

There is a beach view from pretty much every bench, bean bag or table. There are shaded areas and sunny areas too. It's ideal for sitting and watching life as it passes by on the beach or in/on the sea. The service is good and relaxed. The staff are pleasant too. The food and drinks are good with a wide selection of both. We ate breakfast and lunch here a few times and had no stomach problems. By European standards the food and drinks are cheap. You can get a meal from 5 euros and a beer or smoothie from around 3 euros. The only downside is it closes around 6:30 - 7:00pm so it's breakfast, lunch and mid afternoon snacks only....
