Management and staff need to improve the way they treat their customers. Staff appeared annoyed and impatient during our whole time there. We were polite customers, weren't being demanding, and didn't have any special diet requests or anything like that. The older lady, I'm assuming it's the owner, was staring at people to the point that we feel uncomfortable. Then she started to weirdly walk around tables surveying as people eat their food. I'm assuming this is her poor attempt at quality control?
Overall, we didn't feel welcome. The luke warm service and vibe of the restaurant is just wrong and awkward. Their Radna, which were recommended in the Michellin Guide, was just a tad above average. Priced at more than double the standard price for this dish. Did they perhaps fluked it on the day the Michellin food inspector came to visit and made it into the Guide?? It's a wonder to us how else they would have made it in there based on what we experienced today.
If the Radna was exceptionally good, people might endure the bad service for the enjoyment of the food. But it's not the case here.
We left very deflated and felt the visit was a waste of...
Read moreOnce you get there, you’ll find this unassuming eatery, that was half full at 1130AM, and comprising of locals only. It seems like a family owned business, with a grandma roaming around in sleepwear taking orders. A lady spotted us checking translations of the menu on our phone, and offered us the English menu.
Fried wanton (S) 40 Fried spring rolls (S-4pcs) 100 Rad-Nha flat wide noodles with beef 160 Rad-Nha crispy vermicelli with prawn 180 Iced tea 5 per pax
Appetisers came pretty fast, and gotta say that the spring rolls are amazing! We almost didn’t order that, and no regrets that we did! Something different, something peppery, this is something I will come back for~
I had the rad-nha flat wide noodles with beef, the noodles were amazing, a lot of wok hei! Gravy is on the sweet side, as is the beef - not really to my liking, but there’s the option to add on condiments like chili flakes, vinegar and pepper for me. Iced tea is refillable, so that was a bonus. Quite a number of people ordered the wanton noodles, but we were too full to order another main to share,...

This is rat na unlike those found in the night markets all over Thailand. I ordered Sen Yai Rat Na Nuea (Wide Noodles with Beef Rat Na) and I can say that they whipped up the best mid-range Rat Na that I've ever eaten. The gravy rich and generous (albeit a little sweeter than my palates due to sweet soy sauce and sugar), kai lan perfectly done to crispness and flavorfulness, and you can smell the wok from the just-right noodles. The portion, at 150 Baht, is sizable enough for a lunch.
Note that, Rat Na is quintessentially a ĺao (Top-end Chinese-Thai banquet-oriented restaurants) dish and the perfect one could only be consumed at a ĺao banquet, so it's still not 5/5. The dish, however, reminded me of a perfectly cooked family banquet Rat Na I ate long ago at some luxury hotel, the experience I've never found from any other budget and mid-range...
