This is one of the most mediocre Indian restaurants I have ever been to, outside India.
I should have understood that before sitting when I saw food from previous guests not being finished and left a big amount in the utensils. But I still gave it a shot. The waitress didn't make any effort to smile or welcome me in the restaurant. It was more of a "what do you want here" kind of attitude. This was quite different from the Thai culture usually where they are always so welcoming.
They don't offer free potable drinking water but straight away give you a jacked up price water bottle. It is weird because Indian restaurants have legacy of giving potable drinking water for free everywhere and it is very easy (cheap) to provide that in Thailand. The food quality was okay but the taste and craftsmanship was not more than average in any way.
They didn't even bring all the components of Thali they had mentioned on their own, like salad and papad, and I had to ask them to bring it. The manager/owner who wore a suit and had done hair like 90s' Ajay Devgan was more interested in watching reels on the corner table on his phone rather than checking on guests and if they liked the food. He even shouted on a guest who mistakenly was going upstairs in the search of bathroom.
I got fooled by their beautiful interior, which is of course good but they can do a much better job at food, service, welcoming and offering water.
Edit: Please read the response of the management. It itself approves why this place doesn't deserve your visit. And please don't expect complimentary onion, lime, salt, pepper, pickle, chutney, washroom, air conditioning or even lighting. You would be blamed to be poor. And please ignore their...
Read moreYesterday we visited Malgudi restaurant and ordered a plate of chole bhatura, then we asked them to give us additional bhatura on chargeable basis. Along with bhatura we requested for chola refill. When the bill came, they charged us 240 Bhat for chola bhatura plate, 40 bhat for extra bhature and 250 bhat for a small bowl of chola. Their Restaurant manager was adamant. We asked them to charge us for a full plate of chola bhatura instead but he kept denying. Their portions are also very small. Don’t fall for their marketing stunts. Simply looting tourist. Poor service. Similarly we ordered noodles , it cake in a very small plate which cudnt suffice even one person and we were charged 250 Bhat for that. I would highly recommend exploring other locations on the same road to tourist and avoid...
