Budacco Hotel — Hotel in Thanon Phaya Thai Subdistrict

The hotel is close to the Airport Link, and you could actually find it easily if you watch the video Budacco webiste has, with the assistance from Google. It is not recommanded to go with bulky luggage since you will have to cut through a super crowded market (both morning and evening/night), and the roads are not even at all. Taking a tuktuk or taxi will take you about the same time since it is in a small alley where congestion is 24/7. Taxi drivers will not go by meter since they need to factor in traffic jam (simply NOT MOVING while you know you can walk back and arrive in 3min, for example)

We stayed at Budacco for two night- first night and last night of our 5D4N trip in Thailand. We could actually stored our bigger suitcase with the hotel, and headed off to the province with lighter luggage. The breakfast is of lots of choices for a budget hotel like this, and I like how you could see the cooks making so much effort preparing the breakfast right behind the bar while we enjoyed the food. The breakfast area could be super crowded at peak hour (past 7:30/8am). We were the first customers on Day 1, and really enjoyed the breakfast in a decorated dining area whereas the the meal was a bit in a hassel on Day 4 when we decided to have it after our morning market shopping.

The room itself is big, clean, and simple -exactly what I would expect from a budget hotel. You would have to leave your key to power the room on. Thus, do expect the stuffy smell and feel when you return you room after shopping.

In summary: Pro: Breakfast variety for a budget hotel, overall value for money, spacious bedroom, friendly staff and clean public area, seperate sink from shower/toilet, super proximity to watergate and the Platimum Mall, and the Airport Link Station Con: bad soundproof/noises from neighboring units, discoverability and accessibility, weak shower pressure, lack of wet/dry shower area adject to the toilet,...

Pros:||1) Location- Right in the heart of Pratunam, easy walking distance to many malls.||2) Staff excellent, always greeting us & helpful. ||3) Breakfast ample & satisfying, although area very tight & u have to be careful not to knock things over.||4) Room spacious & bright.||||Cons:||1) They gave u a list on check in to introduce hotel & some rules. Made u think they are very particular.||2) Housekeeping is stingy with drinking water, only giving us 1 extra bottle when asked. I think this is important because Bangkok is so hot & we need to be well hydrated! I wish there was a dispenser, so instead of asking for bottled water, we cud just refill ourselves.||3) The hotel is in a shoplot alley, off a small busy road where the night/morning market stalls are. Difficult to get to with all the traffic. If you hire drivers, jams around this area is a big issue, & they can't park/wait for u at the entrance.||4) The layout of the room is strange, sink outside of bathroom, high (dangerous) steps to toilet. U had to get your towels hanging inside the bathroom in order to wipe your face! No handwash by the basin, we had to ask for extra bottle of bath gel to use as handwash!||5) TV only 10+ channels- no movies!||6) Bad soundproofing - Noisy neighbours, doors slamming, people talking, etc, etc!||7) Old, tired furnitures & paint||||For the above reasons, I dont think...

Not bad for a boutique 3 star hotel. However don't think will book back this hotel for the following reasons||Pro:|1) hotel right inside pratunam night market area so be it day or night|. Endless shopping confirmed. |2) staffs were very helpful and pleasant |3) king size bed in room. One of few that offers king size bed for a 3 star hotel||Con:|1) room design although colourful and bright but somehow lots of spaces not utilised hence looks empty|2) room shower and toilet had to climb up steps and after a shower it's v wet and slippery. Not kids or elderly friendly at all|3) sound proof of room is poor ( as in most 3 star hotel)|4) 1st timer might find it difficult to locate the hotel as its hidden right at the end of an alley|5) there's a phone in the room but no instructions on wat number to call for reception or inter room calling|6) no breakfast offered||Hotel had a lot of positive reviews.. can't fault it much actually but I only give it 4 star as I had stayed in better 3 star Hotel...
