We have been here several times over the years, and always return here for their BBQ salted tilapia. It's just superb.
It is a real and authentic old school Thai menu, with lots of variety from different parts of the country.
We love this place - as real as it gets in Bangkok. No pretense, nothing fancy, just great food. And the prices are reasonable, not crazy, as much of Bangkok is becoming.
They have a new menu and they now do hot pots too and beef shabu (tabletop charcoal BBQ) too. It has plenty of options for all tastes. Not alot of English spoken but enough to muddle through. As is often the case for me, I was the only farang there.
They also do absolutely old school charcoal BBQ gai yang. It is also not to be missed. Not that many places in Bangkok do it anymore, but it is very special.
Tonight I also had the prawns with lemongrass salad. It will put hairs on your chest but it's epic. Be brave.
We will always return here, it is just so authentic. It's also clean, reasonably priced and has real character.
If you love real Thai food, you should try this place. Right next to BTS...

Read moreExtremely unassuming place. Stumbled upon this gem on my last night. Visited a few expensive seafood restaurants who didn't even taste half as good as this. Had been looking to satisfy my cravings of the salt baked Talipia and it was amazing. Salty, fresh, tender and juicy. The fried rice was tasty with good wokhey, prawns were juicy and fresh, lala clams were tasty and juicy as well. Great flavour and taste at a fraction of the price you would pay at a seafood restaurant! Do not give this a miss and definitely try the salt baked Talipia! Even had cute cats to...
