Kad Kokoa at Sathon — Restaurant in Thung Maha Mek Subdistrict

Found Kad Kokoa on google and decided to come. There was a lovely and welcoming ambience as i arrived.

Cacao and chocolate-themed items are aplenty. From cakes, to desserts and ice-cream/ gelato. Everything looked good.

Arrived near closing time but was reassured that i could sit down and take my time. Which was in my advantage as i liked some peace and quiet. I had actually come two hours ago but it was a busy period that i left. Was not rushed, we even chatted a little about yesterday’s earthquake.

Ordered a 70% pure chocolate drink which tasted exactly as how the kind lady at the counter described it - fruity and sour/sweet. Also she helped me decide on the Honey Sesame Tea Finger Chocolate, which would complement the taste of my drink.

There are some testers at a corner but unfortunately i didnt have time to try them.

Had the pleasure of meeting Khun Ton (hope I got the spelling right, please correct me if I’m wrong). He was very passionate about chocolate! Gave me an awesome tour of the shop, and explained in detailed on how they make their chocolate.

He also let me try a bunch of single origin chocolates, all sourced by cocoa farmers in Thailand. This was an awesome experience, reminded me of wine tasting, coffee cupping, etc.

My favorite is the cocoa nibs dark chocolate. All the chocolate sold there are nicely packaged, I appreciated a the details. Down to putting a piece of double stick tape in the box so the chocolate wouldn’t shake around insider the box during transport! They’ll also make great gifts as well.

If you’re interested in learning all about chocolates of Thailand, Kad KoKoa is for sure worth making...

An amazing place, this chocolate laboratory / cafe / factory. You go there for the experience, and you end up coming back for the taste, for the vibe, the education. All ages, all family members, old and young, will discover something new about chocolate in a very tasty way.

I recommend the cacao lemonade (in one of my pictures), it is something you will not find elsewhere, for sure. All the eating bits were very consistent, and delicious ... worth every penny. Especially when you are in such a nice place.

With friends and/or kids, for a date or just for some quality time alone, go by, and enjoy. I am sure you will return later anyway ; the same way we did.
