Authentic, delicious and great value for money - One mouthful of The Pocket pizza and I was instantaneously transported from Bangkok to la Roma. There’s something about the dough that sets this pizza apart from other places I sampled - just like la mamma makes! Might it be they use sparkling San Pellegrino in their mix? I don’t know but whatever the secret is the base is beautifully soft and squishy on the inside, rather than heavy and glutinous. I went for the vegetarian option which was positively aromatic and bursting with flavour, juice oozing from the perfectly charred generous helpings of aubergine, courgette pepper slices and more, with just the right measure of mozzarella to get your mouth watering and your tongue tingling. It was love at first sight! But words can only relay so much. Don’t take my word for it, go and try for yourself. But beware, this little gem of a place is tucked away in an alleyway just off the bustling Kao San Road. Don’t be surprised to find a multi-cultural clientele hanging out there with their take out beers, it’s quite the diverse social hub too, from Scandinavia to Uganda people flock, which makes for some interesting banter while you wait your turn. TEN STARS ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE. I was looking for this place, to find out that unfortunately they only do delivery and you can’t dine in. Simone (the mastermind) was too kind and extremely friendly, so he let me sit down to the place they prepare these delicious drugs and enjoy something way better than a boring round pizza, THE PINSA! I tried half vegetarian half diavola and my words can’t describe the feeling in my mouth and my soul…this pinsa speaks in your heart and takes all the bad thoughts away. We are talking about first quality products, so in my opinion the price is pretty cheap. If I was dead and this pizza was touching my lips, I would be risen. This pinsa is a double orgasm!!! Average and expensive, I would not order again. The topping are close to minimal and low quality, you can count on one hand the number of slices of salami. The salad came full of oil and with a bitter taste. Place has potential, but should use better ingredients and put a bit of more effort to keep that price level…
