I booked this hotel with the promise of it being something truly unique. It's often listed as among the top 10 budget designer hotels in Bangkok. I've been to Bangkok many times and have stayed in many different places, but it was my girlfriend's first time in the city and so wanted to try something different. I booked this hotel because it seemed to have a bit of character, especially in the unique design of the rooms. However:||||-while the rooms do indeed have unique design, they are more tacky than anything. The room I stayed in felt like some sort of warped sex dungeon, without proper storage for clothes or even basic amenities one might expect for a room of this price||||-the service was aloof, not warm or helpful at all (regardless of language barrier). There is reception for limited hours (ostensibly 9am - 9om), but the reception disk was often vacant even during those hours. At one point I had to wait for 20 minutes||||-they try to nickel and dime guests to death, as confirmed by other reviewers here, for instance charging 400 Baht to clean pillow cases stained by my girlfriend's hair dye (normal bleach would have removed the stain)||||-NO breakfast is included or even available. There is a cafe but it looks permanently closed. The only option is street food, which might not be suitable for all travellers.||||-the location is a double-edged sword. It's a VERY local part of Bangkok, which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. I think it's a bit nice to escape the Khao Sah / Sukhumvit tourist bubbles and see a bit of what REAL Bangkok is like, but it might not be suitable for first time visitors to the city (there is no restaurants nearby, for example). On the other hand, the BTS and Chao Phraya Express stops are only 600m away. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the accessibility to other parts of the city is actually quite good.||||In summary, there is an abundance of accommodation choices in Bangkok. At this price point, you can get MUCH better value, even if you might have to join the backpacker hordes in Khao San...
Read moreI had great expectations due to the good reviews but unfortunately the best days for this hotel seem to be long gone. Maybe when it was new but now it needs a lot of work. To start, the musty smell. The visible black mould all around the bathroom. The musty smell when the air con is switched on, blowing more mould around the room. The stickers with mildew building on the window. The cleanliness was laughable. On arrival there were multiple hairs in the bed and a couple of stains so I asked for the sheets to be changed. Thankfully I stayed in the room because the cleaners just vacuumed the hairs off the bed and thought that was sanitary enough. They seemed quite annoyed at my request of actually wanting the sheets changed. It was clear they hadn't been changed from the last guest. The mattress is awful. So thin and worn out (nothing like the photos on the booking platform, half its size) and wherever you are it sinks you in. No support whatsoever, and I'm only 50kg. There was a kettle and cups in the room but when asked about coffee or tea the response was that they used to give it but now they no longer provide it as the room is cheaper than before. It was actually above average at 1100thb a night. Anyway I would not recommend unless you want to wake up with a bad back...
Read moreBoutique is not the word for this hotel as it does not have the full fledge service of a boutique hotel. Stylish may be but is a misnomer fitted to make the room rather 'unique'. Stylish not really as the fixtures are pieced together to harmonize with each other.||There is a small cafe, I did not try it thus no feedback on this.||The hotel is about 9 minutes on foot from Saphan Taksin BTS station. Use exit 3 to road level cross the street, turn left and walk straight toward a glass front restaurant on the left hand side, turn left here and walk straight towards a grey color building on the opposite side of the street.||The room's style is more like the Wacko Gang cartoon characters but fit in nicely.||The hot water shower mixer can be difficult to get cold water at full cold water selection. Nevertheless the water pressure is good. No hand soap provided other than hair shampoo and shower gel. A mini fridge is provided, air con remote control needs extra trying to get the response.||TV programs can either be Netflix or YouTube or local.||Where the hotel is located, there isa 7-11 eleven on its left and mini Big C supermarket on the opposite side of the street. On the left and right are local food outlets and most of them closes...
