Not gonna lie but the location is a bit far away from tourist spot. Me and my friend visited twice and all the Grab drivers asked permission to use higway toll due to the traffic jam. We were a bit sad because this place is such a good place but no one comes even in dinner time :( the owner really serves the best hospitality. He told us which menu should we get too. This is the safe zone for vegetarian person whether you still eat onion or not.
We really wanted to try all the menus but we are not a bulk eater too :( I was so happy that my friends initiated to have a second visit since she is not a vegetarian. Believe me, we still talk about how good their food even until now (we visited on June).
Our most fav were tofu katsudon, miso soup, age dashi, and spinach one (i forgot exact name). Next time we will try another menus for sure!
When we finished eating and went out the restaurant, we didn't realize the owner was bowing to us very deep and down. We get touched by it.
We miss the owner and his food. Hey owner, do you still remember us? We will be back soon so wait for us! And for everyone, please try this one for sure! Yes, it may bit a lil bit far but believe...
Read moreI was excited to see that, since my last trip to Bangkok, Veg Japan had opened only a few minutes walk from my favourite riverside hotel.
The staff are very warm and welcoming, especially the young man who I believe is the owner. The space is a calm, cool respite from the hot, busy streets of BKK. The menu is very clearly labelled for people who follow different vegetarian and vegan diets.
We ate there twice during our week long stay and tried a few dishes. Highlights were the eggplant agé bitashi, served cool with a light but tasty dashi, it is so tender it melts in your mouth, and the tofu katsu bento with a diverse selection of tasty little side dishes, each one as delightful as the last! The vegan sushi platter, served with a delecate miso soup is also to be recommended, with the refreshing iced barley tea to cleanse your palate.
I'm looking forward to tasting more of the menu on my next trip, particularly their homemade vegan black...
Read moreI was there with my friend the other day and was impressed with how the food turn out. Everything taste very authentic and was nicely executed. We had the tempura bento box, the aubergine in sauce, tofu, karake, tofu soba and the pudding. The soba was very nice, they made their own soup and the taste was very good )not to mention that they give more than enough). The aubergine was what the owner, who is from Japan, recommended as a traditional Japanese and it was very good. I also love the tofu , texture was great and the sauce was very tasty. The shop was not busy but all the customers seem happy. It’s no sirprise since the owner was very friendly and very Japanese. (He would send us to the door and wait till we leave like the Japanese do. A very good experience, will definitely go back. Probably the only true traditional Japanese vegetarian in Bangkok. And very good at what they do. Will try the preorder menu for...
