Best service, the biggest smiles from all staff, and a pleasure to deal with. I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel for your next stay in Bangkok. The rooms are huge, and quiet. Excellent quality and cost effective.
🇹🇭UPDATE 2025🇹🇭
The Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok,it exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. From the moment I arrived, it felt like a peaceful retreat from the city’s chaos — yet I was still just minutes away from the action.
Check-in was smooth and welcoming. The lobby is grand but calming — polished marble, river views, and a gentle fragrance in the air. Staff greeted me with genuine smiles and a cool welcome drink. My river-facing room was ready early, which was a bonus after a long flight.
I stayed in a Grand Room with a balcony overlooking the Chao Phraya River — absolutely worth the upgrade. The view at sunrise was magical, and at night I could see boats gliding past the lit-up temples and bridges. The room was very spacious, with a comfortable king-sized bed, a small kitchenette, and a full-sized bathtub (great for relaxing after walking around Bangkok).
Everything was spotless, the Wi-Fi was fast, and I appreciated the blackout curtains, which helped me recover from jet lag.
The breakfast at River Barge Restaurant was a highlight. It’s buffet-style, and the variety was incredible — Thai, Western, Japanese, fresh fruit, pastries, and even an omelette station. I ate by the river each morning, which made everything taste even better. A word of advice: try to get there before 9 AM to beat the crowds. Try 7am and you will have it to yourself 😁
The pool was another favourite. It’s large and faces the river — I spent a few afternoons there just lounging in the sun with a cocktail. There's also a spa and a decent gym, though I didn’t use those on this trip.
One of the best parts is the free hotel boat shuttle to Saphan Taksin BTS station. It runs frequently and makes getting into central Bangkok super easy and scenic. I took it daily and actually looked forward to the short river ride each time.
Service throughout my stay was consistently excellent. Everyone from housekeeping to the concierge was friendly and helpful. I even met Chef: ART, see my pictures who was proud of his Breakfast offerings! Note: After 9:30 AM the breakfast area does get busy, so go early if you want a quiet start to the day.
Traffic in this area of the city can be heavy in the evenings, but the river shuttle makes up for that.
✅ Final Thoughts
If you want a peaceful, scenic, and comfortable stay in Bangkok without breaking the bank, Chatrium Riverside is perfect. It combines the charm of riverside life with luxury-level comfort and real Thai hospitality. I’d absolutely stay here again — next time I’ll book a longer stay just to enjoy the view....
Read moreWe had a great stay at Chatrium Riverside Hotel. Staff was super friendly and attentive, concierge always greeted us with a smile and hi-5’d our 9 month old daughter and always ensured we were ok wherever we were exploring for the day, whether it be via boat, taxi or tuk tuk. They took care of our every need.
These days when booking a room, I always look for hotels that are children friendly considering we have a wee one - available cots and children’s pool is just a plus. What I did not anticipate when we asked for a cot was that they also brought up a potty training toilet AND a BABY BATH TUB with her own bathing toiletries. I mean, if that isn’t top notch service for small children, then I don’t know what is! They ALWAYS looked out for my daughter’s needs and that’s enough for me to come back over and over. And the fact that nearly the entire staff knew our daughter’s name and greeted her every time they’d see her…well that just makes my heart smile. My daughter enjoyed all the attention she was getting from her new friends.
The 1 bedroom suite we stayed in was FANTASTIC with an awesome view and balcony. There was ample space for us as a family of 3. The bed was VERY soft comfortable (can sometimes be hit and miss with certain hotels in Southeast Asia as some beds are quite firm and hard). I probably got the best sleep there of our 5 week travel. We stayed a total of 5 nights. The only issue we had was that as the days went by, there was a mildew smell coming from the ac unit. There was also a fairly long wall crack from ac vent to the door panel…I think it was a result of the recent earthquake just a couple of weeks prior. But the safety inspections came in and deemed it safe so we didn’t have a problem with that. The smell was really only more evident on nights 4 and 5 and primarily in the evenings. We let them know upon check out and are sure it’s probably getting the attention it needs as we noticed a room 2 doors down was being worked on a couple days.
Oh and how could I forget to include….room came with an espresso machine!!!! SCOREEEE!!!! There’s also a Starbucks in the resident tower next door, as well as a 7/11. “Hello, welcome”!
Overall, fantastic stay and I would def come back with my family. HIGHLY...

Score: 9.3/10 – Would robe again.
Pulled up, parked, and glided in—no valet nonsense, just clean, easy drive-in parking. Within minutes I was upstairs, robe-ready, and already wondering why other hotels make everything feel like airport security.
Staff? Thai. Educated. Polite. Calm. Efficient. Smiling. Not the usual mismatched “international hotel school exchange program” vibe you get at places like Shangri-La. Call me old-fashioned, but well-trained Thai service hits different.
The room? A full-on 60m² mini condo in the sky. • Beds: twin-mattress king — aka “no motion transfer, no arguments.” • Pillows: bouncy but not floppy — and yes, I took a mental note to upgrade mine. • Sofa: Stylish. Comfy. Cushions so plush I almost took one hostage. • View: Doi-style river glam. • Cleanliness: Surgical. Spa-level spotless. • Bath: Deep, wide, “soak your sins” approved.
AC? Built-in, not one of those cranky side units that huff and puff all night. I brought my thermometer because I’ve been burned before, and yes — it actually hits the temperature you set. Cold room + thick hotel blankets = chef’s kiss sleep conditions.
Shower pressure? Not quite a power wash, but respectable. Sauna? Included, private, and lovely — just turn it on 30 minutes ahead or you’ll be slowly poaching yourself at 40°C like a sous-vide sad sack.
The best part? Dead silence. Full blackout. You will sleep. You will wake up wondering where you are. You will consider extending your stay.
For the price (especially off-season), this place is a steal. Would absolutely stay again — with my own thermometer, obviously. 🛏️.
Breakfast? Decent for the price. Machine coffee is fine, nothing to write home about but enough to get you moving. Croissant looked the part but lacked the buttery soul — more puff than pastry. Western corner is hit or miss (skip the sausages), but the Asian options are the real win — flavourful, fresh, clearly made with care. And as always, the Thai service pulls it all together with calm smiles and quiet efficiency. Not a Peninsula-level spread, but for the rate you’re paying, it’s a very solid start to...
