A Disappointing Experience at VelaBhirom Restaurant

I recently dined at VelaBhirom with five friends, and unfortunately, it was the most disappointing dining experience I’ve had in Bangkok in the past five years.

We arrived at 8 PM for dinner. Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet with only 10 other guests, the service was inexplicably slow and disorganized. It took 15 minutes just to receive our aperitifs. The starters were not served simultaneously, and the same issue occurred with the main courses — a 10-minute gap between the first and last plate being served left some of us with cold food.

The wine, which should have elevated the meal, was served at the wrong temperature, making it far less enjoyable. Desserts were equally underwhelming, and to top it all off, an espresso I ordered was never served.

Overall, the service and food quality were far below expectations, especially for a restaurant in a boutique hotel. I cannot recommend VelaBhirom and will not...

We went to celebrate my sister’s birthday and she has been to many restaurants in hotels but I was glad I was able to surprise her with this choice. It s hidden in a small boutique hotel Villa Deva on Sathorn Soi 1. The restaurant serves Thai food with a few pasta dishes. We ordered crispy shrimps chins, crispy octopus tentacle, Padthai, somtum, boat chili paste, crab curry, Chanda ice cream and I can’t remember. We ordered so much for 5 people. They were all tasty and nicely presented. The ambiance was relaxing luxury. The service was good but I wish that they were a bit more attentive since we were the only table there. Great Restaurant if you are looking for high quality Thai food that isnt just the usual stuff you get anywhere. They have specialities from all thai regions and great taste (no heavy msg use by the way which is nice).

We where pleasently surprised by the service of our waiter, he knew the menu well, spoke fluent english and was able to recommend things apart from just naming best sellers. Not sure if all of the staff is trained that well ot if we got lucky but service wise...
