The local desserts here are definitely worth trying!

I especially loved the coconut dessert, though I’m not sure what it’s called. It comes in two flavors—taro and sago—and is wrapped in pandan leaves. The top layer is a smooth coconut paste, while the bottom is either taro or sago. Not overly sweet, it has a perfect balance of taro’s or sago’s natural sweetness and the slight saltiness of coconut. Best enjoyed cold!

Also tried the coconut and banana cake—an interesting combination. The banana adds a sourness, and at first bite, we even thought it was jackfruit. If you’re not a fan of jackfruit’s strong flavor, you might not...

I was sad that this was not as tasty as I was hoping. I ordered the khanom fak thong (steamed pumpkin cakes) and they were pretty bad. Not very sweet at all and had large chunks of pumpkin in them.
